I just finished chapter tan and I can say that I am really starting to like this book, At first, it was kind of weird because it felt like I was starting in the middle of the story but now it is all coming together and I got to say, Jude totally took down Cardan during the tournament!

oh yes, Cardan only has the privilege of being the son of the King. He's not good in anything being a prince, tbh. but..... I love him haha

YES Jude!! that was amazing haha, probably my favorite part so far.

I know, He can be kinda kind sometimes, also Locke is intriguing. He always stops things before they get too bad and he isn't as mean to Jude as Cardan is.

i find the whole group dynamic interesting (with Cardan's group). Cardan seems really mean, but his relationship with Jude is an interesting one, and whenever they talk he seems to act differently around her than other people. Locke does seem like the nice one, although he never stops things at the beginning, but lets them play out a bit. plus Jude kind of likes him, although i'm i interested to see where that goes xD the others in the group i already hate, especially Valerian. i like seeing the different social groups/castes in Faerie and how they interact

Oh my gosh, I hate Valerian! And I was so surprised that Prince Dain wanted her to be a spy for her but also not surprised at the same time. I think that Cardan might secretly feel bad for Jude and I think that maybe Locke just likes Jude because she's different than them.

i was also surprised! i guess it makes sense, though. Jude could never have a normal life living in Faerie as a human and with her personality. i think Cardan also isn't used to people seeing through him/not being in love with him, so when Jude is able to stand up to him it intrigues him. that could definitely be true about Locke... he sometimes seems nice in more of a pitying way, but hopefully he'll prove me wrong.

I have read so many books where the powerful person like the lesser one because they stand up to them and don't back down like everyone else and they always end up working together and becoming a couple so I'm excited to see what will happen between Jude and Cardan

I just finished these parts and I LOVE the dynamic between Locke and Jude. Locke definitely feels tied to the group, but loves when people defy them because he knows they deserve it. I am getting a little annoyed with Taryn at this point. I know she likes to be in the shadows, but she is very submissive to everyone and everything. She really looks powerless, compared to Jude of course. I adore Jude and when she stood up to Cardan, I WAS SO happy. I literally was squealing!! I also can’t wait to see what Jude is going to do as a spy for Prince Dain. Especially since only he can control her and at this point we don’t know what he is capable of. Also, I am so happy we got to see Vivi’s new girlfriend! Aw how sweet, I can’t wait how that turns out, as well. I hope Vivi does move to the mortal world. She seems so much happier there! This entire section is for real Jude’s most bad ass moments so far. She stood up to Cardan and punched that guys face at the mall. I absolutely adore her.

omg you just talked about everything I feel. I most definitely do not like Taryn though. I liked Locke for sometime haha.

Yeah! I thought the same thing with that only Prince Dain can control her. I wonder what's going to happen with that.

And I wish that Taryn would stand up more often.

I wish as well but I think she knows she will never be on the same level as everyone there. Due to that, she just submits to their taunts and stares at her. Jude feels as though she can change her fate and I’m happy that she feels powerful and that she’s able to become someone they can respect. I adore her resiliency!!

I sooo do not like Taryn when she is determined to hide it. it's so weird.

I don’t like that she hid it as well :( I wonder what it is and why she is so keen on hiding it

same!! I love how Jude answered Cardan ... and Locke seems like he's playing some game. I know I've read it but when I think back to when I read the first time, I remember I was very suspicious of him being nice and then close to Taryn.

Bee, i also really liked the line about Vivi and Madoc. Vivi tries so hard not to be like him, but in this big way they are similar. and i also love the scenes with Jude and Cardan! her comebacks are great.

when Jude first became a spy for Prince Dain i wasn't sure how i felt. i think it will be exciting to see Jude in her new role, and see how she manages it, but i don't know a lot about Dain and i'm not sure if she should trust him

I want to seem like a serious person who makes serious bargains.

if you people know Tom and Jerry, I want to say when Jude said that, it made me feel like she's Jerry... too small and powerless yet full of everything including revenge and anger

of course, you can't trust faeries. like ever because they lie in a way and mortals think they can't lie so they take their words as it is. often those are riddles one has to work around, think about.

but I must say, I kind of liked how Dain just said "no, tell what you really want. something you asked no one".

I finished the series, I'm so sorry. Can I join here, WITHOUT SPOILERS? I promise I won't spoil ANYTHING, yeah?

omg please can we read wicked king together!!! I just bought it and it’s coming in friday. I love discussing books while reading it at the same time with other people. It reminds me of high school. In college, we don’t do this type of stuff and i miss discussing books!! Also, you guys are so insightful and I love talking to all of you about the book.
