oh my gosh. I did not think that Jude would not only lie and deceive Cardan, but she deceived US
oh my gosh i cannot believe this!! sorry i am freaking out and my emotions are all over the place. Also, THE QUEEN NO WAY

but anyways I can't forgive Taryn.
i posted my review! But, I can never forgive Taryn as well. Not here and not ever. What she did to Jude was unforgivable and I hope she realizes that Jude literally WON. She was holding Jude back. Jude always always thought of Taryn and when she realizes Taryn didn’t feel the same, Jude literally dominated and kicked ass. That’s how I saw it. Jude took her faults, her weakness, and turned it all into her strengths and it gained her power and A KING ;).
right! I can’t wait to see how Jude takes on this new role, as well as Cardan, and how they interact with each other because of it. I will miss Oak and Vivi. Also, I noticed how at the end Taryn didn’t go with Jude, Vivi, and Oak to the mortal world. I feel like it shows how distant she is from her family. How she chose different from them.

oh my gosh so scary. i think she’s made to be a leader and i’m happy she get to do that. I think she’s not thinking in the far future but what is benefiting her and the people she cares about now.

the fact that Cardan has a tail is so funny and that Jude has one finger bitten so weird and upsetting but that's life! in Faerie hahaha
oh my gosh now that you brought it up, i TOTALLY forgot about Jude’s top finger getting bitten off. She went through so much growing up as a human and told NO ONE. I really believe shes so strong.
HAHAHA YEAH I LOVE HOW HE HAS A TAIL TOO

and you’re right jude is a strategist and a good one at that. the book mentions games she would play with Madoc and how she wouldn’t think steps ahead and her end goal and get too cocky with the win before she actually got it. She kept that in her mind and she learned from it. I am also sad that she felt disgusted she deceived Madoc bc she knew how easy it would’ve been since he never would have seen it coming

plus, Madoc is way older and had more experience which is why she always lost to him and the only reason Madoc lost this time is that he didn't even think or see that Jude was playing the game as well
I know, you’re so right. she knew she couldn’t hold him back or win against him so she poisoned the drink (which was one smart move)
I still think it’s badass she’s slowly poisoning herself to gain immunity/strength to it. she’s literally unstoppable

most of all, I love that she isn't a bitchy protagonist who only has a smart mouth. I love her brains.

Also sidenote: I did not expect Baelkin to dive in front of Cardan, and I do think that in his own twisted way he truly does love Cardan. However maybe he only dove because he believed that if Cardan died he would have no way of becoming king, this was probably the case lol

right?!? I can’t believe Jude caught everyone by surprise - even us!!! I actually was happy she made the switch. I know Cardan thinks he can’t be a good king but i feel like he can.
I think Oriana didn’t go to the human world with Oak because I don’t think she’s been or is accustomed to it. I think that’s the only reason I can think of. For Oak, he can learn to love the mortal world because he’s young and is adaptable. Also, I love the part where Oak asks Jude when he can come back and she answers along the lines of “when coming back feels like a hard choice instead of an easy one”.
I agree @G! I think Balekin does love Cardan in a cruel, selfish way. I think love in the faerie world is so messed up LOL. Like how Jude loves Madoc and how Madoc loves his family - including the wife that left him.

i just finished!!! i LOVED the book, and it was great to read in the perspective of such a strong and smart character. when Jude pulled off her scheme at the end i was so surprised! i'm scared how her relationship with Cardan is going to be affected by this... but i love them both sm lol. BUT TARYN. wow. i never liked Locke too much; he was kinda charming at the beginning (but besides i was already in love with Cardan even then) but never seemed honest. i kept waiting for him to betray Jude. so i'm mostly mad with Taryn for letting Jude start to like Locke knowing she'd end up messing up her sister's trust and everything. i liked reading the sword fight part though, or whenever Jude is fighting or spying :) WHEN SHE AND CARDAN KISSED omggg my heart XDD i loved it

yes! it was exciting to read, and i liked that Jude had a chance to use her immunity to poison. i did get some princess bride vibes from that part, though lol
