When Abby signs up for a DNA service, it’s mainly to give her friend and secret love interest, Leo, a nudge. After all, she knows who she is already: Avid photographer. Injury-prone tree climber. Best friend to Leo and Connie…although ever since the B.E.I. (Big Embarrassing Incident) with Leo, things have been awkward on that front.

But she didn’t know she’s a younger sister.

When the DNA service reveals Abby has a secret sister, shimmery-haired Instagram star Savannah Tully, it’s hard to believe they’re from the same planet, never mind the same parents — especially considering Savannah, queen of green smoothies, is only a year and a half older than Abby herself.

The logical course of action? Meet up at summer camp (obviously) and figure out why Abby’s parents gave Savvy up for adoption. But there are complications: Savvy is a rigid rule-follower and total narc. Leo is the camp’s co-chef, putting Abby's growing feelings for him on blast. And her parents have a secret that threatens to unravel everything.

But part of life is showing up, leaning in, and learning to fit all your awkward pieces together. Because sometimes, the hardest things can also be the best ones.

Chapter 12- (view spoiler)[ I think this is a nice start! I'm intrigued with Savvy's character and why everyone seems to be telling Abby to give her a break and to get to know her. I like Leo quite a bit as well, and I would like to know if Connie really did lie to Abby. So far, an easy and fun read! (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 17- (view spoiler)[ So much drama!! I like this, but it feels very YA and there is just so much miscommunication and revenge. I'm way too old for that! HA! Glad Abby and Savvy are on speaking terms again. (hide spoiler)]

Katie, sorry to get to this late. Thought I had a copy of this - I didn't. Have got the audiobook, so starting now.

Just listened to the opening chapters. Given what she’s just found out, Abby is amazingly calm.

No problem! I only finished it so soon because we had a couple of snow days at school :) I haven't written my complete review yet either, so I'm really looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

I’ve got it on audiobook to keep occupied while painting. Like the narrator, but I’m feeling rather old listening to these teens. Do find myself curious about why Abby’s parents had their first child adopted.

up to ch13. Definitely a fun read so far. It's giving me the vibe of something that might not actually be all that bad - it's all rather implausible at the moment.

Finished. Review on home page. Some good elements, and one or two niggles, but it was - overall - entertaining.

Chapter 7
(view spoiler)[Uh oh, Leo’s mad :/ I honestly feel like he shouldn’t be mad though cause he should know Abby feels awkward around him after the almost kiss so it only makes sense that they’re not as close as they were before. But Abby did technically lie to him, so I understand why he’s mad. I really like the parent trap plot so far, but not so much the romance. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 1-5:
(view spoiler)[I like the friendship between Abby, Connie, and Leo; they are all different but similar. I keep wanting to know what exactly happened during the BEI. I hope that Leo and Abby can get over it, though, since they seem good for each other and close.
I would feel so weird about finding out I have a sister and figuring out we have some things in common. However, I am not sure if I would go to a camp that I know nothing about to learn said sister better.
I hope that she tells Leo soon about her because that has to be weird. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 5-10:
(view spoiler)[I like this book a lot so far, especially all the characters you meet just in these five chapters at the camp.

The first thought I had in the fifth chapter was OMG; he likes her too. I figured that much, but I am honestly happy. They both seem to get each other more than most people; this is from somebody who is only a fan of a friend to lovers trope when it looks like it won't ruin what they have now. I know it might affect it somewhat, but hopefully not too much.

I like Fin; he seems to be sarcastic and sweet and a genuine friend to Abby. The new friendship is excellent since she has had a rough start with Savvy and now has Leo mad at her. I like all the characters so far, but it makes me sad that the two relationships she started or had before this trip are going badly. I also have a feeling something crazy is going to happen.

(view spoiler)[I think the romance is cute, but more wish for their friendship to still be great. I felt conflicted, too, about Leo being mad, though I understood. I think that he thought hurt more than angry for three reasons:

1. Not only the lie, but also the fact that he wants things back to normal between them, and they can't be yet. Honestly, they need to talk the whole BEI out, so they can try and figure out what they are now.

2. Also, I think Leo is hurt that she didn't tell him about something unique in her life, and maybe a little jealous too. I think a part of him wishes for a sense of finding out who he is and his birth family, that it has to be hard to see his best friend find out she has a sister.

3. Also, because she lied, he genuinely wished that she was here for him. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 17
(view spoiler)[ awe I love seeing Savvy and Abby connecting over something, I hope they get to spend a more time getting to know each other and then they'll be able to work out what's up with their parents.

Chapter 10-15
(view spoiler)[I am kind of glad that Leo and Abby didn't makeup right away. Leo seems to be the type of person who forgives too quickly; he seems to want to blame himself before blaming someone else. So, I am kind of glad that he didn't go right into forgiving Abby, plus she did lie to him. Though, I am glad they did makeup because they have a great friendship even if they don't get to have more than that.

I like the friendship and relationship coming to be between Abby and Savvy. They both don't want to admit it, but they fight like siblings. They also seem to understand each other as siblings do; they will find their way to being family or at least friends.

I LOVE Mickey; you honestly don't know how much I love her. She is so sweet and caring, especially to her friends. However, she is also sarcastic and very sure of herself. I also have to say I SHIP MICKEY AND SAVVY SOOOOO MUCH!!!!! They seem to be so perfect for each other, so absolutely adorable.
I hope that Savvy ends her relationship with the girlfriend, who seems too jealous and not very good for her, and be with her best friend!!

Leo is so jealous of Abby and Finn; I feel like there will be drama with that involved.

Chapter 15-20:
(view spoiler)[First off.....YES, I KNEW IT!!!! Mickey and Savvy ship will live on!!! They are so amazing together; I hope they end up together. I feel bad that I was correct about the other part about them too, I wish that Savvy didn't get hurt by all of it.
I am also not happy that there are some severe love triangle vibes between Finn, Abby, and Leo. I like all three of them, especially the two guys, and am always worried about people's friendships regarding love triangles.

I had a feeling Connie was keeping something from Abby related to Leo possibly liking Abby, but did not expect that she never asked him. I also didn't expect Leo to tell Abby that he is leaving to go to a different state for college, right when she confessed. I want everyone to be happy, and this is not seeming to be so.

Finn and Abby almost kissed; what the crap!!!

Oh, and now Savvy and Abby are best sisters and friends (well, kind of), and their parents end up at the house.

This is all going crazy, I hope we still get a happy ending.

And her and Savvy’s parents need to grow up and learn that this isn’t about they’re past drama, but about they’re kids. (hide spoiler)]
