Anderson Cooper seemed starstruck, didn’t he? Her recitation gave me goosebumps- I can’t wait to see what she’ll do next!
The poem is an interesting combination of "free verse" and rap. She said she was inspired by "Hamilton" & Lin-Manuel said she was perfect. There was an interview just a few days ago on PBS where you could hear a little problem with her "r"s, but with the poem at the inauguration, apparently she practiced so much that there was no hint of it.
LOL yes, Anderson Cooper definitely was starstruck - so was I! Such a composed, articulate, and passionate young woman. I hope she does run for president in 2036!

Amanda Gorman is such an inspiration! She is easily quickly become a household name. An inspiration to us all. Perfect way to kick off the day and this new chapter!
The line "For while we have our eyes on the future, History has its eyes on us" is a direct reference to Hamilton, "History has it's eyes on you....."
