The Sanctuary. Created by an enormous group of men and women bend on rescuing humanity from the ruined world. It located in the very centre of Mortus Ora. An enormous dome can be seem from miles away; it can fit miles of towns. In the middle is the city, known as 'Home'. A disturbing name, in truth. This is where the Santuary's headquarters are located, but underground. It is where the creators and their employees, their soldiers, keep a watchful eye on the Sanctuary through cameras.
When the Sanctuary was created, survivors of the nuclear war were instantly drawn to it. They were cured of their illnesses and sent to one of the countless home in the Sanctuary. Every town, every community, was controlled by a mayor of minimal power, who kept order and reported back the Sanctuary HQ at the end of every month.
To keep proper order, curfews were set. Everyone had to be situated in their homes by 11.00 pm. If not, they would spend three nights in the Home's jail. Also, everyone owned bland clothing, and travelled in simple cars. Money was easy to earn, there were jobs for everyone; there was no reason for crime.
Overhead, the dome was obscured by an artifical sky which stayed sunny all day and displayed a clear night sky every night. In the real world, the sky was constantly hidden by dust or ashes. It was as if the proper sky never existed. An artifical one seemed far better.
But then the first mutation was discovered. It was only a small rumour that passed through the towns, and no one even knew this mutated young child had recieved the ability of telekinesis. They only thought she had grown an extra eye or something bizarre like that. But then more mutations were discovered in children and teenagers. The people of the Sanctuary started to become worried. Would these 'mutants' be a threat to others? Would they attack everyone? Or would they been seen as gifted youths and granted wealth for their gifts? However, the main fear was that these mutants would upset the Sanctuary's order.
But soon the government took control. All of a sudden, the mutants had disappeared. What had been a growing panic was reduced to a wary calm. But the people were also concerned about what had happened to these mutants. And the mutants' parents? They were terrified for their children. The government explained they had taken them away to be cured, and would soon return home. But the government were just as fearful of the Sanctuary's order as the people. They planned to kill every last mutant.
