Welcome to February 2021!

If you wish to have a buddy choose a book from your SBC bookshelf, please comment below with the amount of books you wish to have picked out for you.

I will pair you with your Buddy using Random.org.

Rules-ish:

You will need to create a bookshelf marked Stitcher’s bookclub TBR or SBC TBR on Goodreads. Put books on it that you can read in February.

PARTICIPANTS:

Bonnie 1 book

Eden 1 book

Jenny 2 books

Tracey 1 book

Tracey I have chosen for you Fire Burn, Cauldron Bubble by Paul Cookson. It drew my eye immediately and I couldn’t look away from it. A bunch of witchy poems sounds like a wonderful time too.

Brilliant, thanks so much Bonnie. I received it yesterday and it's such a beautiful clothbound hardback edition too, can't wait to read it!

Tracey Allen at Carpe Librum (carpelibrum) | 1270 comments Eden, I choose Romanov by Nadine Brandes for your February buddy pick. I think I chose this for you one time last year and you weren't able to get to it, so this will help you get it off your TBR 😃

Jenny (diggensjenny) | 138 comments Bonnie, I have chosen for you the following book:

Real Men Knit by Kwana Jackson

Hi ladies. A little update to the buddy postings.

Tracey is to pick a book for Janice.

So glad you are joining in this month xxx

Yippee! I've just had a look at your SBC shelf Janice, and I couldn't decide so went with the book that's been on your TBR for the longest, which is Still Life by Louise Penny.

It's also the first in a series of at least 17 books, so fingers crossed it's a series worth continuing on with. Good luck!

message 28: by Janice (new)

Janice Boychuk (janice_boychuk) | 237 comments Hi Tracey! I’ve been meaning to get to this series for awhile ... unfortunately it’s got a wait time of 6 weeks (should have checked). I’ve removed a bunch of books off my SBC shelf, as they were only on Kindle and I just cancelled my membership. Pay 9.99/month subscription and none of them are free 😡. So... can you please choose another one - I’ve checked that’s they are all available! 🥰

No worries at all Janice, I love choosing books so am more than happy to give it another go 😉

So, I've had a look at your new list and immediately I was drawn to The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough. It's an Australian novel and quite a big deal here, although I know it's a chunkster, so hopefully you'll get it finished in time. February is a short month though, so even if you don't finish it until March at least you'll finally have the motivation to pick it up. Good luck and get ready to enjoy the Australian outback setting.

Janice Boychuk (janice_boychuk) | 237 comments Hey Tracey, it was meant to be, it just came through on Overdrive! It’s one of those epic novels I’ve been meaning to read and just never got to, so thank you for this! I’ve read some really good Australian authored books in the past year. 😊💕

I have a few Thrillers, Horrors and Paranormal books on my kindle that I'd love to read in the next couple of months.

Jenny (diggensjenny) | 138 comments Eden wrote: "Yes,genre for the next round of books :)"

What about using a heading General nominations everyone can add a book in their favourite genre.
The other heading can be Science fiction, paranormal and fantasy etc

I like Bonnie I do not mind reading a book from the thriller or crime genre.

Janice Boychuk (janice_boychuk) | 237 comments I’m always spoiling for a good thriller mystery!

Still haven’t started mine. Finding it difficult to pick up physical books at the moment. Preferring audio whilst doing crafts and chores.
