A few vampires were taking turns beating a kid, it was a common pastime.

Higanbana glanced over, chuckled and kept walking. She reached the end of an alley way. There was a door. She knocked three times and waited, feeling the rain pitter down on the top of her hood.

A small child answered the door nervously. (Btw according to their law your not allowed to hurt or drink from a child, which is universal ignored)

She bent down, looking mostly like a human apart from her fangs. "Hello little one" She smiled sinisterly. "Are your big siblings home?"

Hey, you should probably read the lore, the kids are taught that there are no adults left (90% of them had died but they are told they all did))

"Y..ya.." One of the kids said, looking scared. He trembled a bit, stepping out of the way of the vampire.

She stepped inside, brushing past the child. "Where?" She asks, her dark eyes scanning the room quickly.

The child shrugged gently, not really knowing. "Maybe upstairs?" He offered. There was a ladder into a loft, that must be the 'upstairs'

She looked back down at the child, her eyes soft. The odd thing about Higanbana was that she followed the law of no hurting small children and often felt bad. "Kid.. next time don't answer the door and don't come upstairs no matter what you hear. okay?" Then she stepped towards the ladder, hooking her hands around the rungs.

The kid was shaking and sat in the corner, afraid that he just got his siblings killed. He looked out the window at the city and wondered for a moment, what exactly is outside of this place. The vampires say its a deserted wasteland but what exactly means they are telling the truth.

She took each rung slowly, satisfying the fear she felt throughout the house. She made to the top and watched the older siblings. "Hello there. Using your little sibling for bait wasn't a good choice." She hissed, circling them.

The siblings looked confused about 2 things. Number 1. why is there a vampire in the house. And Number 2. what does she mean by bait, they were taking a nap as they sleep in shifts but the rest were out.

Her cloak hid most of her face, only her mouth and the pearly white fangs showed. She took another step towards them, closing the circle. Higanbana loved to play with her prey, like a cat.

The girl ran off as the boy got his makeshift spear, aka a chair leg with some metal. Neither of them could be much older than 14, still kids.

She pulled the hood off her head, getting a better look at the boy. "How cute. A spear." She jumped forwards and then backwards again before he could hit her.

The boy stabbed himself through the head, the girl who ran had slit her throat after stabbing the smaller kid to death, they were not gonna let themselves die to a vampire.

Higanbana sighed and grabbed the boys shirt collar. Even dead she wouldn't let a meal go to waste and bit the nape of his neck, savoring the coppery taste of his gore.
