S.C. Farrow (scfarrow) | 11 comments Hello,

I'm sorry if there is a discussion about this somewhere else, but I hope you can help me with an answer. I added a new title to my author list, a book that I was going to start working on. There are no details, and it doesn't have cover image or ISBN.

Circumstances have changed, and I'm now compelled to work on a different title. As such, is it possible to remove the title that I've had to shelve (for the time being)? I don't want to mislead potential readers.

Many thanks for your assistance,

ImaginaryVoices | 153 comments Hello. Yes, the book should be deleted. Please, provide the link of the title for this.

S.C. Farrow (scfarrow) | 11 comments Hello, thank you for getting back to me. The title is 'baggage'.

Many thanks.

ImaginaryVoices | 153 comments Thank you for the link. Unfortunately, I can't delete the book, I got the "Only super-librarians can delete books with so many reviews" message. Which is weird as it has 0 reviews. The reason it is preventing me from deleting the book may be that you, as a Goodreads Author, created your own book.

We need a superlibrarian!

Scott | 9331 comments The book has one add.
You can post a request on the "Please delete this book" thread, or contact support directly.

Publisher has nothing to do with it.

S.C. Farrow (scfarrow) | 11 comments Who knew deleting a book I haven't even written would be so challenging! However, thanks for all the great feedback. I'll contact support.

Dobby (dobby0390) | 7869 comments Contacting Support is the correct thing to do. From the Librarian Manual:
Deleting published books from our system is against policy. Goodreads is striving to be a complete database of all published works, including works that are out-of-print. We like our members to be able to add their exact edition to their virtual shelves. Just as a library would not remove a record from its catalog, so do we not remove books from our database.

However, if your book was never published and never will be published, we might be able to remove it. Please contact us.

Marcie Maxfield (marciemax) | 1 comments Hello,
I was trying to update the cover on my forthcoming memoir JewGirl, but inadvertently added a second listing for my book, which comes out on October 1st. Can you help me? I'd like to keep the listing with the 7 reviews and just put in the new cover with the Kirkus blurb. AND delete the second listing with only one review.

All that needs to be done is combine the books, and you can do it yourself. The link is right above your book list.
