i’ll go first. i hate daughter of smoke and bone with a passion. the insta love🤢the main character🤢the plot🤢 i cannot explain the relief i had when i finished it. and i’m confused why i didn’t dnf🙄
The Marked Girl (absolute YA GARBAGE). City of bones (YA Garbage)
Enchantment of Ravens (Insta love, ew gross)
OMG I AGREE DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE WAS AWFULSix of Crows is a disaster. Half the plot is flashbacks and it’s very anti climactic and boring.
The Invisible Life Of Addie La Rue lacks in obvious representation it could have given, doesn’t actually say anything about history despite being about an immortal, has an awful ending, insta-love, and a terrible MC.
House of Salt and Sorrows is a mess in ALL aspects.
The Poppy War was very bad. The magic system was poorly explained, some people actually root for Rin (🤡), it was a weird copy and paste of real events that confused me how it was excerpted, and also handled trigger warnings I find in a senseless way and some points (like the rape part ehh a character tells of her experience) is almost used as a plot device more than actually being an important thing that is forced on.

As for me, I hated WHERE DREAMS DESCEND!! The plot drags on forever, the main character is annoying, and the characters are stereotypical. I hated it more whenever I recall that it was pitched as The Phantom of the Opera meets The Night Circus. I may not love The Night Circus, but the atmosphere was top-notch. And this book did both dirty just by saying that it was anything close to these books, let alone The Phantom of the Opera. That is probably the only book that I DNF that gives me the urge to write a whole blog about it. (So I did.🤣)
I used to hate the mortal instruments series (don’t ask) but now thinking back on it, it was actually a really cool series! I just didn’t like it when I was reading it which is weird
i hated the invisible life of addie larue. it was incredibly boring and it makes no sense that in 300 years addie only travelled between european countries and didn’t meet any person of color.

I HUNT Killers by Barry Lyga:This was the worst book I ever read in my life. The characters were annoying and lacked development.
The main character Jazz was odd and I didn't understand him at all.
He said he wanted to be better than his father yet he does the exact opposite. The his girlfriend was annoying and the way she was written was uninteresting. The author focuses on her being black WAY to much and he even makes jokes on slavery. The story could have been better. Killing Stalking, Naoki Urasawa's Monster, Death note and Devils line are way better crime dramas. So many things in this book made no sense. The way death is discussed is disgusting. The characters make jokes about doing sexual things with a corpse. They discussed sexual assult as a thing that is not a big deal and is something to joke about. There is this scene where Jazz's classmate was hugging him and what is he thinking about? Her breasts and what he wants to do to her. WTF? He calls his black gf Connie a hoe and thinks it FUNNY? I don't understand why this book is so popular! I couldn't get past chapter eleven! I read up to page twelve on print and up to chapter eleven in the audio book version from my public library. I stopped at 3 hours and 26 minutes in of six hours, three minutes and 21 seconds. I could go no further. I'm done with this book! I can't believe most of comments section are full of women and no one else even complained? I should have just when with Harry Potter again or Young Samurai book one, but I couldn't becauseYS book one wasn't available on audio book at my public library. What a waste of time I'm never getting back. This is why I don't like American YA books. The last DECENT one I read was the Caster Chronicles and Maximum Ride. I'm going back to reading REAL books like the Outsiders since that was a masterpiece!
I hated shadow and bone! I found the characters shallow, the main character was just so annoying!!!!
The Sun is Also A Star by Nicola YoonIt's SO unrealistic and cheesy. I even wrote a review for it. I gave it 3.5 to be nice. I did like some aspects, though, so maybe that's why I gave it 3.5, but the overall story is...
The Hobbit. I know everyone loves this, but it just didn't work for me. I didn't get attached to the characters, the writing was slow and meandering even in action scenes, and I had to force myself to continue it... this is literally one of the only books in which I can say, The movies are wayy better than the book. (view spoiler)Plus, Ruin and Rising! The first book in Shadow and bone was just okay, I didn't like Alina and Mal, but I loved the plot twist! The second one was better, because: 1) Nikolai!, and 2) Alina started to accept her powers, and herself!
But the third one ruined the whole trilogy, the ending literally cut off all of Alina's development, and she ended up with the ONLY PERSON IN THE SERIES WHO DIDN'T ACCEPT HER AS SHE IS! (view spoiler)
i recently finished one off us is lying and honestly this is one of the worst books i have ever readed. it is a murder mystery well it is supposed too be bu A: the murder is super dumb and nothing scared about it , then this feels more like a highschool drama. there is drama everywhere and the 4 charracters are walking tropes. like oh the nerd girl takes her glasses off and is so beautiful without them. this is just insulting. and then it also deals with mentall illness and the rep off it as a plottwist and in a horrible disrespectfull way which makes me hate this book too the core.

Aliyah ♡ ♡ wrote: "City of bones and renegades 😬"renegades was such a disappointment omg, i rlly didn't like the romance and the plot was just meh
I absolutely HATE Uprooted and The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer. The romances were horribly written and all the main characters were really powerful with no good explanation as to why.
The Hating Game, i know i am from among the lesser populace here but the entire book was so trashy it was almost only there for the smut ugh
