“Lightsabers were designed to end conflicts. They were designed to injure no more than necessary, and in the horrible circumstance where death was the only possible outcome, they would kill quickly... There was no collateral damage with the lightsaber.” —p79
It makes me think about what Barriss said, that the Jedi had lost their way. Which is fair, and a lot of this book backs her up on that. Except that even though she’s right, her terrorism overshadows her point.
Sarina wrote: "“Lightsabers were designed to end conflicts. There's a lot to be said about the differences in the Jedi of The High Republic and the Jedi in the prequels. They handled so much so differently from what we saw with Anakin and Ahsoka and even Barris like you mentioned.
There's more to talk about with some of the characters later in the book and in Into the Dark from Claudia Gray (I'm about halfway through). So let me know when you get to points you want to talk about because I have thoughts.

Since it was announced I’ve been wondering if by the end of this there won’t be a gap. Maybe we’ll get to see the Order gradually become what the one we know best.

I heard Charles Soule in an interview (I think on Star Wars Explained or maybe it was on Coffee with Kenobi) mention they chose that so there would be small threads that would tether The High Republic to the story that we already know (he used Yoda as an example)

I have a hard time believing they would just leave all that time without doing anything with it.

She’s very much, “Do no harm.” Even when her life was in danger in Order 66, she refused to slaughter all those clones.
