As a group I thought we'd take March off and pick back up in April for our next group read. So, who would like to nominate a hardboiled classic or two for April's read? The only restriction I'd like to place is that we not repeat authors yet. I'll take nominations the rest of this month and create a poll on March 1 or so.

Oh, you probably meant publishing date. I wanted to leave that open. The nominated work just needs to be hardboiled fiction as defined here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardboiled
I will nominate The Third Man by Graham Greene. Greene, technically, is British, but the film, especially, and the book were greatly enjoyed in the U.S. The film is considered a superior film noire. I've yet to view it.
I don't want to have just two books in the poll. So I will nominate another one: Pop. 1280 by Jim Thompson, a classic in the field!
I would love to read something by Graham Greene. I have been wanting to try something from for a while.Zain
