Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments Last year I read a staggering amount of 210 books. This year I want to aim for 100 books, maybe more. Also I want to read a total of 50,000 pages.

Well, this is the beginning of a glorious adventure. See you on the other side!

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 1. Yogi Superhero: A Children's book about yoga, mindfulness and managing busy mind and negative emotions by Anna Smithers 24 pages

The reason why I chose this book: I wanted to start off the year with something light and cheerful. There's something very comforting about reading a children's story and the illustrations was so beautiful and peaceful.

Date finished: 3/1/21

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 2. Moments of Joy by Ysa Arcangel 177 pages

The reason why I chose this book: This was my first pick from my TBR list. Again I wanted something light to read and I just love a good old love story overall.

Date finished: 6/1/21

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 3. OPEN: Why asking for help can save your life by Frankie Bridge 256 pages

Reason why I chose this book: This year I really want to work on having positive mental health and this book just grabbed my attention. I didn't realise that she was a part of the girl group The Saturdays, so as a celebrity it was interesting to see her take on mental health and how it affected her.

Date finished: 7/1/21

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 4. His First Time: Nick by Ann Omasta 51 pages

Reason why I chose this book: Yes, I know that Christmas is over but it doesn't stop me from enjoying a Christmas/romance story. I'm pretty sure that I've read one of Omasta's books before and she is a fantastic author.

Date finished: 7/1/21

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 5. This Book Is Alive! by Justine Avery 40 pages

Reason why I chose this book: This was hard to pass by on. The concept of a book being alive is pretty interesting and in a way I guess it's true. Any book can come to life especially when we use our imagination.

Date finished: 7/1/21

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments Number of pages read so far:

548/50,000

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 6. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Original Screenplay by J.K. Rowling 304 pages

Reason why I chose this book: Seeing that I watched the Fantastic Beasts film night before, I decided to cave in and read the screenplay. I just love exploring the Harry Potter universe even further.

Date finished: 8/1/21

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 7. MARS Vol. 2 by Fuyumi Soryo 183 pages

Reason why I chose this book: I started reading this manga series last year and I forgot all about it. I wanted to see where the story goes and continue on with the rest of the series.

Date finished: 9/1/21

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 8. Soulcalibur: New Legends of Project Soul by Bandai Namco 192 pages

Reason why I chose this book: My mum bought me this book as a Christmas present last year since I'm the biggest Soul Calibur fan in the world. I heard so many brilliant things about the book and it will be awesome to see character art concepts as well as read up on unreleased information.

Date finished: 11/1/21

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 9. Earning It by Angela Quarles 161 pages

Reason why I chose this book: This was my second pick from my TBR list. Really ascetically pleasing cover and the blurb pulled me in from the start. A blind date between two people who don't get on is always fun.

Date finished: 11/1/21

Kay (PhoenixArisen) (phoenixarisen) | 93 comments 10. The Flip Side by James Bailey 384 pages

Reason why I chose this book: I want to read more physical books this year and this was the latest book I bought. It sounded like a fun read. Making life changing decisions by simply flipping a coin? Sign me up.

Date finished: 13/1/21
