25,000! yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! Congratulations! Now I gotta go figure out how to reorganize my corner in order to fit the new challenges in. "Dammit" :D lol, I joke. It's going to be so much fun, I can't wait to see what you've come up with :)
I feel lucky to be part of this awesome group. With such fun challenges and fabulous leadership, it's no wonder this group reached Silver Membership Level! Congratulations! 🥂
Congratulations to all the current and former mods - you've created something special! Thanks for taking time to plan the additional celebration activities and for all your efforts during the year. It's appreciated!
Thanks to all of you for the kind words. You are what makes our group such a warm and friendly community! 🧡
Wow, I'been disconnected from the group during February (my father passed away and I didn't feel like reading that much) and I now find this wonderful piece of news: Congratulations to all the members and especially the MODS! 🥂It's a pleasure to be part of this fabulous group! 🤩
I'm looking forward to the celebration activities!

Sending you my deep condolences and a big, warm cyber-hug. 🧡
25K! I remember when we were celebrating 1000! (yes, I joined this group in December 2011 - for the 2012 reading year - I think I was one of the first 100 members!)

I've been a participant here the last couple of years and am really glad you all take the time to make this group work and to keep it going. This group is something I needed. It's a good thing you volunteer moderators do here! Thank you!

Thank you for your reminiscing and for staying a member for, wow, a whole decade!
And, darn it, did I get the year wrong for when this group started? The 25k quarterly has some 12-based prompts for 2012.
Should it have been 2011? *sobs noiselessly

I joined in December 2011 so the group was probably started for the 2012 reading year?

Since its birth in 2012, this group has grown in popularity with each passing year.
In fact, we reached 16,000 members just three years ago in 2018. What a surprise that our group membership exceeded 25,000 at the start of this year!
To celebrate all of you and everything you do to make this group a wonderful, friendly reading community, we’ve planned a special celebration to commemorate this milestone.
There are 8 activities you can join to add to your reading enjoyment.
This post will provide links to the various celebratory activities as their respective threads are poted.
(1) A Virtual Party! (Mar 1 - Mar 31): Come visit this thread, dressed as your favorite literary characters and mingle with your fellow group members to celebrate hitting this amazing milestone.
(2) A Quarterly Challenge (Mar 1 - May 31): Similar to our standard monthly or quarterly challenges, but focused on the numbers 12 (for 2012) and 25. (for 25k members).
(3) A New Listopia (Mar 1 - May 31): What is your own favorite book of all time? Celebrate with us by either nominating your favorite to this listopia or, if it's already there, vote for it!
(4) What Would the 25-Year-Old You Read? (Mar 1 - May 31): Join us in sharing which books you enjoyed or might enjoy at the age of 25.
(5) Movie Night (Apr 1 - Apr 30): Grab your popcorn and watch a movie or TV series adapted from a book. Then share your thoughts in this thread!
(6) Scattergories (Mar 1 - May 31): A delightful game for interacting with fellow book lovers. Answer simple questions with words starting with the same letter as the title of your current book.
(7) What’s Our Story? (Mar 1 - May 31): Let’s write a collab fiction by adding one post at a time to a spontaneous, ongoing narrative. You can join the story as a story character, offer narration, or write the end or start of a new chapter.
(8) Team-Based Readathon (March 25 - April 7): Could your reading momentum benefit from some oomph? Join us for our first-ever team challenge! To join, be sure to sign up by March 15.
