Yaaaass queen!Loved this! Awkward teens finding awkward love and the kinda nerdy/shy LGBT/POC girl takes on the establishment in running for Homecoming Queen (because it comes with a prize package that will let her get into the music school she is pining for). Liz is an authentic character that teens will identify with and will make connections to her because she is a multi-dimensional character that has many sides. There is nothing cookie-cutter about Liz!
5/5
3/5I listened to this book last year and rated it a three star but honestly I don't remember why. I don't remember much about it other than I enjoyed the narrator's voice.
Solid 4 star read--Enjoyed this YA coming of age story. This is a cute contemporary romance. Liz the main character, grows so much over the course of the book. Diversity plays a major role in this story. Bullying, anxiety, panic attacks, outing, homophobia, family issues, ill family members, and death of parent are all part of the book, but not in a heavy too hard to read way.
4/5 for me on this one. It was a very cute story and touched on a little bit of everything that our readers can relate to.
