This one isn't a quarantine friendly tip, but may be useful and it's actually my job to promote this.Friendly reminder that your local library can also find you lots of manga titles in print (usually for free) if digital hurts your eyes. And if they don't have it, they can often find another library that will let you borrow it (inter-library loan). Some also have a few digital volumes for free as well through Overdrive.
Yes. I get most of my manga on my Kindle from the library. I have saved a lot from just buying the manga.
The shonen jump app is really good value for money i did the trial and then decided to stick with it, I am in the same boat really wished I had discovered before buying all of Tokyo ghoul volumes lol. Luckily I'm loving the series anyway so would of probably got the physicals anyway. Only downside with the SJ app is you can only read in chapters not volumes which makes it a bit of a pain for logging on Goodreads have to figure out what chapters are in which volumes, but for the price that's just a minor inconvenience.
Thats brill did not know that, only ever used it from the app will check that out thanks very much 😁
From what I have seen, yes and no. You can buy volumes from shojo beat but not read chapters from them. The chapters are only available for Shonen Jump titles, the same ones as in the app
Kindle has Comixology Unlimited. 5.99 a month,I'm not sure what all titles they have but I've seen mentioned Komi Can't Comunicate and Tokyo Revengers, and that it's mostly Kodansha Comics titles
comixology is only available in the US I think. I've tried to get it a few times but I live in Australia and it says it's not available to me
Anyone who has the Shonen Jump service- PLEASE write a note to them to say how much you like the service and would like a Shojo Beat service as well! I did, and they replied if there was enough interest they would make one! I'm trying to spread the word LOL!
Does anyone one know if there’s a manga subscription service available in Europe (The Netherlands specifically)? Comixology and Shonen Jump are not available here. Crunchyroll only has a few dozen manga in my region. I did find Mangamo earlier today, but it has none of the series I’m currently reading or planning to read.I’m currently buying all my manga as physical copies but I can only buy a few per month, so I would love to just pay a few bucks each month and be able to read as many as I want!
Manga Plus currently seems to be my best option, but you can only read the first and last chapters, so it only works for series with which I’m up to date :(
I prefer to use Bookwalker. Lots of deals and sales. Better in my opinion search and discoverability. But the most important and super strange thing about the service. You can buy all ratings. You want Shonen series or heavy fanservice? You want 18 rate stories or actual hentai? They got it in manga and light novel form. This is weird because Viz media/Shonen jump force me to buy Golden Kamuy in the website and then it show up in the app. But only what I bought. Apparently google does not let them but google let Bookwalker sell 18 plus material.
Interesting I’ve never looked into that one. I keep my Shonen Jump Sub since it’s so cheap. And I’ve been using ComiXology to read Fairy Tail. What’s the pricing on bookwalker?
Price alone they are the same but they give coins every time you buy something. You can use the coins to buy or reduce prices. I for example bought 4 manga using only the coins. I do not buy much digitally. What I do is waith for bundles to appear and buy it. Then use the coins to buy 1 or 2 manga. Maybe more when they do promotional codes and use the coins to buy several manga. I prefer to use bookwalker for series that are not available elsewhere digitally or really good deals. I think for now you are better off with shonen jump. Is hard to beat 2 dollars a month.
Scribd have manga too. not sure about other places but in Australia they had some but not many for a long time. but lately I've seen the range has been getting better. comics too. am loving it and hope they continue to grow the manga on that service
Well, if you get Kindle unlimted which is 9.99 a month you can get some mangas. You can read Manga online for free but be careful of viruses.
Theres an app called Inky Pen and Izneo which is also 9.99 a month and has so much manga.
Kobo Plus is also €9.99 and has some manga included. Part of Attack on Titan and Cells at Work, to just name a few. And they have some good deals on other manga. For the ebook readers among us who can’t get kindle unlimited :)
I am not happy. Amazon merged ComiXology into their main site. They had a nice UI, easy to find sales and free reads, and a solid reading app built right into ComiXology.com now they fucked it all up and made everything as messy as PrimeVideo. You can’t find shit and have to sift through crap to find your library or sales. Just plain crappy.
I was going to buy saga since I was reading the free preview. The new version of the app piss me off. I remove the app because I put a lot of effort to build my wish list and find series that I like. Never mind trying to find european comics.
If there r ppl that like reading manga digitally i am using an online site called https://mangafire.to/

Anyway if anyone is aware of other manga reading services please fill us in. I know Crunchy Roll offers manga with their service as well but I'm not to familiar.
