I have played BINGO a few times, however I can’t be Captain this time around. I am in the Pacific Time Zone. And I like the Crazy Insane Monkey Space Invaders as a team name. I feel like it could be fun!

This is my favorite team challenge ever! I think I have passed only two or three rounds.
I'm in Europe, so totally different time zone but it has not been an issue before.

For free space, I'm going to read either Bayou Moon or Alien in the Family both from the SOS Bookshelf. Not sure yet which I will be in mood for.

How to Kiss an Undead Bride by Hailey Edwards

It Happened One Wedding
2/26 and 4*
Vaughn is a FBI agent. He is happily single and likes to play the field. He has "rules" when it comes to dating (no contact in 7 days after sex, etc). Sidney recently moved back to Chicago after she caught her fiancé cheating a few weeks before her wedding. Vaughn hits on her in a coffee shop. She calls him out. However, their families are going to be linked. His brother Simon and her sister Isabelle are getting married.
I liked this enemies to friends to lovers romance. I liked that Sidney knew what she wanted and was so unapologetically good at her job. Vaughn too. It was refreshing reading about 2 competent adults. No miscommunications.

How to Kiss an Undead Bride by Hailey Edwards
Pages: 206
Read: 2/26/21
Rated: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My prayers have been answered. Hailey Edwards wrote couple of shorter installments, The Epilogues, to add to original series that actually ended with book 6.
We get to continue for a while with Grier and Linus getting their happy ending finally. Of course it's not straightforward and easy to put together a perfect wedding for two powerful otherworld rulers.
I was left just a little disappointed by the story focused more on gwyllgi pack power struggle and less on Grier's kick ass awesomeness because Grier is absolutely one of the best female kick ass main characters in UF.

Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren

Chloe is attracted to her boss Bennett who is a jerk to everyone including her. They have these random encounters until he realizes that he needs her in his life. They hook up on a business trip and decides to give their relationship a chance until Bennett reveals that he is still the jerk and cares for only hisself. Now he must fight for Chloe and prove to her that she matters.

Layla by Colleen Hoover
Pages: 301

Rated: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Big surprise this book actually is a paranormal romance. CH is known as contemporary writer and for sure I was not expecting to get a ghost story when choosing a book to read for book boyfriends shelf.
Interesting approach though and I have never read a ghost story quite like this. It was spooky but not for the ghost in it. It was the human character that gave me the creeps.
I must say I could never consider Leeds as a book boyfriend or any kind of boyfriend ever to anyone. Yikes.
I could tell that this was CH's first try with PNR genre. For me she's not quite there yet and for now I prefer her contemporary stories.

We first met William in book 1 (On the Edge). In this world, you have the "Broken:" non-magical, "real" world, the "Weird:" magic exists, and the "Edge:" the place between. Most in the Weird are unable to cross into the Broken. Those in the Broken are ignorant of the existence of the other 2. The Edgers (as they are called) can easily cross into the Broken and may cross into the Weird if they have enough magic. William is a wolf changeling. Cerise comes from a magical family and lives in the Mire. The Mire are the swamplands of the Edge. Cerise's maternal grandparents were exiled to the Edge from the state of Louisiana (part of the "Weird.").
Cerise's parents are kidnapped and someone in the family is a traitor. There is an ongoing feud with another Mire local family that's been going on for decades. I enjoyed Cerise and William met-up and gradual warm-up to each other. Lots of action and more gore in this one compared to the first. I loved Cerise's family and look forward to her cousin's stories (Richard and Kaldar).
Also got more of an idea of the politics between factions of the Weird (state of Louisiana (the Hand) and Adrianglia (the Mirror).

Zylar is getting ready for his 5th (and last) Choosing where both partners undergo a series of mental and physical tests. The Choosing pairs mates together. He opts for a matching service. Things happen and his ship ends up off course. He "rescues" Beryl who he thinks is the individual matched to him. Only Beryl isn't and he is on the wrong planet.
This was interesting in that Zylar isn't a humanoid alien. He's insect in nature. They both think each other not-so attractive at meeting. It was funny Snaps (Beryl's dog) getting thought of as a human and he talks too (he was implanted with a language chip, as was Beryl to allow communication). The romance might happen a bit too fast for some (different races/species/language/you name it), but it worked for me. Beryl was capable and able to adjust well. Zylar was a wonderful Beta hero who just needed some self-esteem. And those sex scenes were interesting!
I would have liked more on the Barathi (Zylar), Greenspirits (Kurr), and Xolani doomsayers, the Tiralan (all different types of alien species). Helix's story is next (Zylar's former AI now has a body and needed to leave the Barath Colony because he gained sentience and this was banned among the AI).
This was fun!

Review:
This book has no plot and nothing really happens in it. If you want to read a book that is full of sex and then the main character gets upset that she may be pregnant. Then this is for you. Anita is sleeping with so many people that she does not know who could have made her pregnant and feel the world is closing in on her. The series has taken a turn for the worse. Don't know if it will get better or if I want to continue.

Where Winter Finds You by J.R. Ward
Pages: 480
Read: 3/11/2021
Rated: 3 Stars
Review:
Not your typical BDB book. Trez is do deeply depressed that he is considering ending it all and then he meets Therese. He is told that she is Selena. He starts a relationship based on her being his lost love come back to him. J.R. Ward did not change what she looked like, just her name and her memories. A tragedy makes her realize that she is Selena and Selena is her. This book was written for Trez to have his happy ending, no big climax or anything.

I put off reading this book for so long! I was too afraid to see what would happen! However, I am so glad I finally got to cross this off my TBR. It was so good! I should have never doubting SJM's ability to write an ending. There were still plenty of surprises and unexpected outcomes, but overall it was a great way to end the series as a whole!

Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage
Finished 3/16; 4*
Isabella and Mac love each other, but have issues. Mac was a drunk and it took Isabella leaving him for him to get sober. I thought this 2nd chance love story was well done. I liked that each remained faithful to each other throughout their separation (married 3 yrs, separated about 3 1/2 yr before they reunite). I did get a little frustrated with Isabella, she was slow to come around despite the proof that Mac had really changed. The Mackenzie family is interesting, Cameron's story is next (and we meet the heroine in this one- Ainsley, an old school friend of Isabella's). Ian had some good lines in this one.
