Connor is going to Germany for a school trip and Alex is going to be in a fairy ball to be accepted as a fairy. When Ms. Peters asks Connor to go on a trip to see the will and three unwritten stories of the brothers Grimm, Connor is excited to go and tells Alex over a communication mirror. Alex tells Connor that she getting ready for the Fairy Inaugural Ball and that she’s learning so much about magic from their Grandma. While listening to the stories written by the brothers Grimm, Connor realizes that the third story is a warning in disguise. It’s warning is that the Grand Armee forced the brothers Grimm to take them to the Land of Stories, but the brothers were quick enough to warn Mother Goose and tell her a plan to get the Land of Stories ready for the attack. To buy them time, the brothers and Mother Goose created a portal into the Land of Stories but they also bewitched it so the Grand Armee would be in the portal for two hundred years. The brothers say that they made to story, just in case Mother Goose forgot their plan of attack, so someone from their world would realizes what the story means and warn the Land of Stories. Just when Connor is about to ditch his school trip home to see if the portal is open from the Otherworld, Bree Campbell figures out what he is going to do and decides to help him saying that she wants a little adventure. Connor and Bree find the portal, with a little help from a boy named Emmerich and activates it, leading them to get sucked into the portal too. When Connor, Bree, and Emmerich arrive in the Land of Stories, they run towards the Fairy Place to warn Alex, but Alex has problems of her own. She’s learned two things: One, She is dating a boy named Rook Robins and Two: Her Grandma (the fairy godmother) is dying. When the kids learn from Alex that they have been in the portal from about a month, the fairy godmother is dying and when Alex hears from the kids that the Grand Armee is planning to invade the Land of Stories with the help of the prisoners of the Pinocchio Prison, the kids must bring the Empires/Kingdoms of the Land of Stories together to stop the Grand Armee, which might prove difficult because rumors have it that they have a dragon.

I like this book because not only does it bring a twist for the fairy tale characters, or brings new settings into play but it also develops the main characters personally and gives them new roles to fit into for the next book. Alex becoming the new fairy godmother after the twins grandma passes is a new role for her to fit into while leading an army and the Happy Forever After Assembly to get rid of the new threat they all face. I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
