I didn't know the iliad either, so I had no idea what to expect going in, but it was SO enjoyable!

Reading this book was just so lovely, I was highlighting so many quotes, in like every chapter, for just how beautifully they were written. I loved the Briseis character so much, and Patroclus's interactions with her. It was so bittersweet. And Patroclus and Achilles were just so wonderful, legendary. Such a great depiction of such a powerful love between two iconic and "god-blessed" people. So cool! But wow, so much pain throughout too, it really makes you feel a lot of things. Such a great read!! I'm glad I got to read it for the book club :)
