I'd like to recommend Matchmaking for Beginners. It was one of my favorite reads from 2020 because it's about a bunch of unique characters trying to figure out how to navigate life despite each facing their own struggles and tragedies. There are several parties in the novel! https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...Every day we find ourselves in gatherings, Priya Parker says in The Art of Gathering. If we can understand what makes these gatherings effective and memorable, then we can reframe and redirect them to benefit everyone, host and guest alike. Parker defines a gathering as three or more people who come together for a specific purpose. When we understand why we gather, she says -- to acknowledge, to learn, to challenge, to change -- we learn how to organize gatherings that are relevant and memorable: from an effective business meeting to a thought-provoking conference; from a joyful wedding to a unifying family dinner.
The Art of Gathering is a nonfiction book that's been on my to read list for awhile. I still have a bit of imposter syndrome when it comes to hosting gatherings as an adult. I've put off reading it because it's not like I'm throwing dinner parties during a pandemic, but it could be a fun party themed read. And I'm sure we could pick up some tips that would be applicable to virtual meetings too!
I'm going to suggest The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgeraldthis book has been on my bookshelf waiting to be read for a little while. Even though I haven't read it, I know there are multiple parties throughout the novel so it would be a good read for this month's theme!

I would like to recommend Eleanor and Park. I've been wanting to read this book for some time now and it would be nice to read along with others. I've heard it's a nice feel-good story about two friends. Check out this book on Goodreads: Eleanor & Park https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

Let's hear it! You've got 5 days to make your suggestions! So we can have 5 days of voting after, before we can start finding our next read.
Your suggestion doesn't need to be something published this year, it can be from any time. You can even suggest one that has been suggested before.
Please let us know why you think it should be chosen? It's good to hear people's reasons, we all know some book synopsis don't do them justice. ;-)
::NOTE::
If your book is picked to be our monthly read, we would like your help with being a Discussion Leader by coming up with a few questions for the discussion board! If you don't want to, let us know so we can make some up instead.
