I read it in December on kindle, did not like it, 2 stars. Happy I'm not alone, thought I was gonna be the only one who did not like it with the hype around this. Honestly, i don't know why Kayla chose it, it has a romantic subplot with some steamy scenes, totally out of context for the plot line and Kayla hates romance books haha
Just got to page 138 and I’m starting to enjoy it more. I started this about a week ago though so it’s taken some time.
I was there too. I just came from the discussion for the end of the book and saw that so many people gave it 4 stars and liked it, which surprised me! Definitely a 2 star for me. I just wanted to finish it because it was my first Literally Dead bookclub pick, but there wasn't a moment where it gets better imo. I felt like around page 100, there's a little bit of something and then only again at page 200 and then I felt it was much downhill from there! I felt like just accepting early on I wasn't going to enjoy it helped me to get through it!
sorry to hear that some of you are struggling with it :( I was feeling similar things until I got to about 100 pages. That's usually my golden rule when it comes to reading, I will try my absolute best to get to at least 100 pages and if I'm not feeling it I usually DNF them. I used to feel so bad buying books and doing that, but I would rather spend my time reading something I enjoy, then reading something that I hate.
It was a slow read physically so I switched to audiobook and really enjoyed that reading experience! There was a narrator for each character (Sydney and Theo) so that made the chapter transitions easy to follow.
