I´ve read pretty much all of them (will need to double check) except "Raising Steam" and I´ve re-read quite a lot of them. That´s how much I love discworld :)
Have read most of them and am currently re-reading them in sub-series order. Recently finished the City Watch series and am now on to The Witches, reading book 2, Wyrd Sisters. When I finish these I'm moving on to Death, one of favourite characters.
I'm just about to finish a second read-through of the series. I just need to read The Shepherd's Crown again.
I'm reading them through in order of how he wrote them mostly. I just finished Sourcery, but I'm about to read Guards! Guards! so I think I skipped a couple. I also started to read all the Moist books before I started to go through in order from the beginning.
Hello all,Knew to Discworld and will be starting the 41 book journey. Any particular order recommended. Also I have the following and wonder how to incorporate that into the stream.
The Science of Discworld
1. The Science of Discworld (1999)
2. The Science of Discworld II: The Globe (2002)
3. The Science of Discworld III: Darwin's Watch (2005)
4. The Science of Discworld IV: Judgement Day (2013)
5. The Folklore of Discworld (2008)
Discworld BBC Radio Collection
1. Guards! Guards! (1992)
2. Wyrd Sisters (1995)
3. The Amazing Maurice And His Educated Rodents (2003)
4. Mort (2004)
5. Small Gods (2006)
Welcome Bill.I'd start out from the beginning. The Color of Magic. Gives you a better understanding of the World. Who the different people in the world are, etc. etc.
Will do thanks. Lots of list of what order to read. But like Dorothy, I will start at the beginning.
TBH I'd start out with Equal Rites, the 3rd book. The first two aren't bad, but he was still fleshing the world out. I think he really had it together in the 3rd.

One of my favorite series was kind of like that. I really liked "The Dresden Files" but it was about the 4th book till it hit its stride. Although I enjoyed the 1st three as well.
I’ve been reading them all in order even though people say not to start at the beginning. I’m on Sourcery right now and I’m loving them all so far.
Justin wrote: "I’ve been reading them all in order even though people say not to start at the beginning. I’m on Sourcery right now and I’m loving them all so far."I'm mostly doing the same. Except I was introduced to the series with Going Postal, and I finished the Moist books. I recently finished Sourcery, and I am going to jump ahead a little bit with Guards! Guards!
I want to get back into the series. I've read a couple books from the City Watch, Death (favorite) and Witches series. Not sure where I'll go next. I can't decide between Sourcery and The Colour of Magic.
I need your help, please! - I'm not reading TP, but "Middlemarch", and I came across this line: “… It commences well.” (Things never began with Mr. Borthrop Trumbull: they always commenced, both in private life and on his handbills.)
There is a Discworld character who always "commences", with an almost identical comment - but I can't remember who it is. Do you?
Only just started. I've read the first three books (Colour of Magic, Light Fantastic, Equal Rites) so far and I am really enjoying Mort at the time.Lovely to see so many members in a group celebrating such an often forgotten universe and it's, what I enjoy most, colourful inhabitants.
