Like many times before, Vee walked down the sidewalk from her house to the ice cream shop near her place. Honestly, to her, it was her second house. Ever since she was a child she would always go there. After school, weekends, hell, even sneak out at night while it’s still open just to please her sweet tooth. She loved the place, and after the number of times she went there, it loved her back.
The sky was clear and the sun was out. There was a slight breeze, but overall, the weather was perfect, if not a little on the hot side. But she was dressed in denim shorts and a white tank top to stay cool. Though her short hair tickling her neck, it was a blessing in this heat.
After a few minutes of walking, Vee finally reached the ice cream shop. She pushed open the door to the shop, the bell above her head announcing her entrance like always. The cool air from the air conditioner hit her skin. She was already smiling, feeling the happiness of getting ice cream already set in. She was such a child. But she couldn’t help herself. Vee walked up to the counter. By the number of times she came, she knew all the workers. Even the manager. Unless sometimes there were new workers. Still, they were quick to learn she would be a regular.
Finding himself with a bit of free time Tristan had chosen this little shop to pass the time after work. He'd always been a sucker for pistachio ice cream and he was surprised that this place had it. Normally he didn't stray to the local establishments but the weather had persuaded him and besides it's not like there was anyone at home waiting for him. Work and home were the norm, except for weekends where all bets were off.
Eating his cone he flipped through a magazine he found there. Absent mindedly skimming through it. The sound of the bell took him out of his reverie and he instinctively looked up to see who entered. A young woman and very happy by the looks of it. It made a ghost of a smile appear on his own face for some reason. Maybe it was the childish glee that seemed to emanate from her.
The contrast made it very apparent he looked over dressed in the shop. His long sleeve shirt rolled at his elbows and his black dress pants hot at this time of day.
"Hello Vee!" One of the girls behind the counter welcomed. "Did you want your regular or want to switch it up. We got a new flavour." She said with an impish smile clearly trying to persuade her. Apparently this girl was a loyal customer. Tristan discreetly watched the interaction finding it curious to people watch. It helped that this new girl was very attractive.

As she waited for Riley to scoop her ice cream, her eyes looked over the menu and choices of flavoring, all of which she has tasted already. Call her a sugar monster if you may, but she was not embarrassed with how much she eats from this place. She was just lucky she was as healthy as she is, being that she’s eaten from here since she was a kid. In fact, she’s been offered a job here last year, but she already had one as a waitress so she had to turn this one down sadly.
“What’s the flavor, anyway?” Vee asked as she creeped over to the glass case, to look for the new addition. “And who thought of it? Because I know Joshua has been begging the manager to try out his idea for watermelon and chocolate.” Vee rolls her eyes at the thought. “I honestly don’t know why he would pick that.”
Vee was a regular so Riley and everyone else had gotten to know her tastes pretty well. She was a greta customer and very nice so they always bended the rules for her a bit. "Yup! It has chocolate." She knew how much she enjoyed chocolate and smiled when she was convinced. "Awesome! I'm sure you'll love it if not I can get you something else." Riley just waved her hand at the mention of money. "You're good." Going over to the display began scooping the ice cream.
"It's a cherry flavour with white chocolate...I think." She laughed amd looked at it before handing it to her. "Ugh! Only Josh would come up with that. I keep telling him it doesn't work. You can't just add a non tangy but not sweet enough fruit with chocolate. He doesn't listen though." Shaking her head she palmed her forehead. "Neither does my manager though." She said with a laugh as she took a moment to relax and speak with Vee.
"Don't look but that hottie over there has been giving you looks since you came in. Just saying." She said in a lower voice, leaning over the counter as she did. Giggling she nodded towards him. "Hey what happened with that guy you had a date with. The one with dead eyes." She remarked still grinning.

“The white chocolate seems like a smart choice.” She said as she straightened up, about to hand her the money. But then she waved her off, and she smiled happily. “Thanks, Riley.” Vee slipped the money into the back pocket of her shorts. This wouldn’t be the first time she’s let her pass, and she would do the same for her if she ever came by the restaurant Vee works at. Though the chances of that were much slimmer than Vee coming her, and that’s because she worked at a five-star restaurant that was on the pricey side. “That’s why you're my favorite worker here.” She whispered to her and giggled.
Vee took the ice cream and tasted it, taking a moment to see what she thought about it. But before she could even say something about it, Riley spoke about the guy eyeing her and she had no clue about it. “There is?” She said excitedly, a smirk growing on her lips. “Dude, you can’t tell me to not look. I want to look!” She kept her voice low. She straightened up, trying to make herself look more presentable. “Ugh. Don’t even talk about him. That was a total fail.” She waved her free hand at her, wanting to forget about the guy from her last date.
Ignoring what Riley said about not looking, Vee moved to lean her side on the counter, that way she was facing the tables of the shop too. Her eyes swept the room, trying to find who Riley was talking about. And then her eyes landed on him, sitting alone at a table and dressed formerly, looking very attractive while at it. She smiled shyly and looked away quickly to face Riley. “He’s so hot.” She mouthed, already having to forget about the ice cream in her hand.
Riley laughed along as they ribbed at Joshua. It was all in good fun though since they all got along and joked that way. Josh would have probably been laughing too. "Yeah I liked it, we don't have it in many ice creams so it's a nice change." Smiling she nodded and winked. "I got you." Putting the scooper back in place and closing the glass she stayed at the counter grateful for a small reprieve. With this weather it was bound to get busy. "I better be!" She teased as Vee whispered to her about being the favourite before she too giggled.
"Yeah ever since you walked in!" Her eyes flashes to the handsome stranger again. "Ah really? Man that sucks but I think there's another taker." Giggling she playfully shot out her hand out next to Vee's head so she couldn't look. Snorting she shook her head and pulled back when she looked anyways. "Very hot." She agreed openly looking now. "Why don't you talk to him? Want me to bring him over here?!" She whispered excitedly. He was already giving them interested looks so she discreetly waved him over. Surely he'd catch on?
Tristan was aware when the two girls began giggling and shooting him furtive glances. It was amusing and also promising especially when the girl he'd noticed before turned and smiled shyly at him. That smile really made her shine amd he was instantly interested. He smiled back before she turned away. Just as he was thinking how to approach her he saw the girl over the counter wave at him. Taking that as a good sign he got up and walked towards them.
Riley contained her laughter and urged Vee on. "Omg he's coming over. Say hi to him!" She whispered.
"Hi, um I hope I'm not interrupting?" He said in a deep voice.

But before Riley could say anything, she heard a voice behind her. Trying to calm herself down, Vee cleared her throat and turned around. If she had thought he was hot from afar, she was surely in for a surprise now that he was closer.
“Hey...” she said softly, her cheeks growing red. He was much taller now that he was standing, at least five inches taller than her, and his facial features were just too good not to stare at. But then she realized she was staring and looked away at Riley embarrassingly. I’m making such a fool of myself, she thought. She hadn’t had these feelings in a while, not since she was with Tyler about a year and a half ago, and she was most certainly not like this with her last date the week before.
“Ugh, no. Not at all. Riley here was just about to...” she hesitated for a second as she tried to think of something to say. “go to the back to do something.” Vee quickly added as she eyed her friend, trying to tell her to leave them alone.

(( hey love. Just going through my old rps and seeing which ones are active and what not. Is this something you’d like to continue with me or not?))
((Hey hon! Oh wow it's been a while but I'm glad you checked. I'd love to continue if you're up for it. I'll post tomorrow for sure :) ))
Riley tried not to laugh but was sort of failing. Vee was just too funny and the guy really was hot but the friend she was she immediately got the not so subtle hint and straightened. “Oh my god yes! Thanks for reminding me, those ice creams won’t count themselves.” Giggling she rushed into the back giving Vee a last wink.
A front row spectator to all of this, Tristan simply laughed along, all the while admiring the rosy blush and and sparkling eyes of the girl in front of him. Looking at the now empty seat he pointed and said. “Mind if I join you?” He’d caught her staring at him and smiled even though he was also staring at her. “Don’t tell me I’ve got ice cream on my face.” He said, dabbing at his cheek. “The ice cream was fighting back so…” Shrugging he took a seat next to her and it suddenly struck him just how gorgeous she was up close. Tristan normally didn’t seek women out but…she was different. Call it a hunch or just one of those things that happen but he knew, just as he’d known when he saw her, that she could become someone important to him. He’d felt an urge to break his rules and approach her and if she were willing get to know her.
“Sorry to interrupt you and your friend,” He nodded in the general direction before looking deep into her eyes. “But it’s not everyday I see a girl like you. What’s your name?”

“Not at all,” Vee said once he asked to sit with her. The two sat across from each other at the table. In this shop, unlike her, his outfit contrasted against the colorful background and easygoing atmosphere. His long sleeve shirt rolled perfectly up to his elbows to show his arms and his black dress pants fitted his legs perfectly. Had this been an office, the whole thing would suggest a photo shoot just because of how handsome he was. Vee realized she was staring when his mind started to think of him in a photo shoot, and because he also sarcastically teased her about staring at him with the ice cream joke. As if she couldn’t get any redder.
Laughing at his joke, Vee brushed back a few strands of her hair and casually leaned forward on the table, crossing her arms while still holding her ice cream before her. “A girl like me?” She said with a smirk. What a flirt, she thought. She loved it. “My name is Vee Sky. And yours? It’s not everyday you see a finely dressed man in a small ice cream shop.”
There was an amusing challenge to her question. He liked that. Smirking back he mirrored her action and leaned on the table, closer to her. He very openly swept his eyes down her face, to her slender shoulders, smooth collarbones and lower before meeting her eyes again. “Yes, a beautiful girl like you.” It was kind of surprising he’d never seen her before since this was his usual area and would have noticed her before. “Vee…I like that. Is it short for anything?” Chuckling at her remark he shrugged. “Tristan. To be fair I’m fresh off work hence the clothes. Your outfit is more my taste anyways.” He flirted teasingly.
Tilting his head slightly he said. “I don’t remember seeing you here before. You from around here?” Please say yes. He thought hoping she wasn’t just in town visiting. He eyes flicked towards her ice cream. “You’re dripping hon.” Grinning he nodded towards the neglected treat.

Vee opened her mouth to answer but then he pointed out the ice cream that she neglected. “Shit,” she said with a small laugh, embarrassed. She was so consumed by him that she forgot all about her cold treat, a treat that she was supposed to try out and tell her friend how was it. She leaned off from the table, grabbed the few napkins she placed on the table, and wiped at the few drops that managed to drop. She then brought up the cone and liked all around the bottom part to capture what was mostly melted.
“Not bad.” She said once she tasted it, and then looked up to meet his gaze, wiping any that got on her face. “Don’t tell Riley I forgot about it,” she giggled. “She won’t let it go.” Riley would constantly tease her about how she let her ice cream melt because she was too busy with her eye candy knowing her. She then remembered his question and answered, “and yes, I am from here. I actually live down the street.”
Tristan chuckled with her. She sounded cute when she was embarrassed. He couldn’t help but stare as she licked at the melted dessert, her pink tongue promising to be as sweet as the ice cream. His mouth was suddenly dry which made his voice come out huskier than usual. “Oh yeah? Mind if I try?” Even though he meant the ice cream his eyes never strayed from her lips. Okay, so maybe he was pushing his luck but hell if he didn’t try.
Smirking he looked over at her friend who was doing a terrible job of pretending not to gawk at them. Returning a dead serious look to Vee he said. “Your secret is safe with me.” Before grinning boyishly. “Yeah I get the feeling your friend is not one to let things go. Now the question is where does that put you Vee?” Leaning back he took a relaxed pose, his arm extended on the table as he idly tapped his index finger on the table. His brows raised at her response. She lived down the street did she? “Really? Mhmm begs the question of why I’ve never seen you here…It’s a great area for sure, I’d love to see your place sometime. Grab a drink maybe?” Forward? A little. Crazy? Yeah sure why not? Vee was definitely someone he was interested in and she seemed to like him too. You could never be 100% sure but he felt their chemistry was mutual. He guess he’d figure out soon.

She couldn’t stop grinning as Tristan played along with hiding what happened from her friend. Not only was he very attractive and easy to get along with, but he seemed like a genuinely fun person too. He was right. How could she have not crossed paths with him before if they both come to this place often?
She ignored his earlier question about her, leaving a little mystery to herself, but also because she was so surprised by his last question.
Is he asking me out? She had to stop herself from staring at him with her mouth open so she wouldn’t look like an idiot. Instead, she leaned back in her chair, tilting her head to the side, and smiled flirtatiously. The ends of her short hair tickled her neck and shoulder as it slightly swayed from the movement.
“In one condition,” Vee started off. “You would have to find me here again.“ Despite wanting to immediately say yes to him, which she really wanted to do, Vee was a bit afraid to take things too fast. With her long relationship with Tyler ending about a year or so ago and the stupid attempt at a date with the dead eyes guy a few weeks ago, Vee didn’t want to push her luck. She believed that if Tristan and she were meant to go out on a date, then they would cross paths again. They had a spark for a reason. She just hoped she wasn’t screwing this chance over. “If we bump into each other again, we could go down the street to the bar, and who knows what will happen after.” She left the last part for imagination.
