hiii!! i've kind of always been meaning to read poetry, but have never really enjoyed any of the collections i've read. the thing is, when i do come across a poem, i *love* going through the "oh-i'm-reading-it-ten-times-to-understand-its-wider-meaning" and so it's all transforming into a super frustrating situation where i want to pick up poetry collections but i just know i'm probably going to hate them...if you guys have any recs, i'd definitely love to hear them!!

Hi! I loved The Girl and the Goddess. It made me cry at least 7 times and it read a lot like a story. I think you would enjoy it.

yes, it is! I keep forgetting authors today of all days! it explores so many topics including mental health, exploring one's sexuality, and many more that I can't think of right now. sorry, I just had history class and my mind is full of random facts about the french revolution. I hope you enjoy it!

Hello! I'm new to the group :) i am looking for two different recommendations:- I want to read a Nicholas Sparks book (haven't read any) and I'm interested in what the best one is or your favorite!!
- Also looking for any shorter YA books that are really good or that you love. Like almost novella length. I have a short attention span sometimes haha
Thanks everyone!!

Looking for JJ is pretty short (300ish pages) and it wrecked me when I read it- though there was some heavy subject matter

Hi! So, personally im not the biggest fan of Nichols Sparks books, but the only one i did like was The Wedding, and it was really good! Its actually the sequel to The Notebook, but i accidentally read The Wedding first and it was totally fine and you arent missing out on anything. I read The Notebook afterwards but i didnt really like it
Hi guysss!! Can you guys recommend me some graphic novels?? I've never ever read one and I'm not that into superhero stuff. I've been wanting to read Locke & Key but I can't get a hold of it. What do you guys like?

Hey guys! I’m looking for a book that’s going to make my cry. I feel like those books are always the most beautifully written and I really want to find a good one. I don’t cry super easily so I need a super heartbreaking one.

The Song of Achilles
It didn't make me cry a lot but I'm not a super sobby person. I already knew the story a little so I knew what would happen and it had the Romeo and Juliet you know they are doomed but you convince yourself they can defy fate element even tho you know they can't.
hey! does anyone know a book that has some sort of feminist setting? like not a book that's about achieving social equality but rather one that already has it? i recently thought about it but couldn't come with anything. especially in fantasy it's often either something along the lines of "women don't usually fight, just a few" or the plot is about achieving equality. so, any ideas for a book which has already that feminist setting?
Thanks for previous recommendations~ i've added them to my list!I am looking for more books. Specifically books shorter than 200 pages if possible, looking for some pretty short ones to read on the side. Anything that's really good.

How do you feel about Graphic Novels?
They tend to be shorter on the number of pages and lengthy descriptions. I like Ms. Marvel, Vol. 1: No Normal and The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, Vol. 1: Squirrel Power. More NA content-wise there's Paper Girls, Vol. 1 or The Wicked + The Divine, Vol. 1: The Faust Act
For more traditional prose there's Eric (155p) one of the more accessible Discworld books

You should try A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, I’m currently reading it, and it’s great!

Julia wrote: "I looking for a good romance book or sci-fi book thanks"Lovely War is a great historical fiction romance set during WWI and WWII. Wicked Fox is a paranormal, mythological romance set in modern day South Korea. Heartstopper: Volume One is a contemporary gay romance set in the UK. Eliza and Her Monsters is a contemporary romance about a girl who drew a webcomic. Melanie Dickerson writes cliche, but pretty good historical romance retellings of fairy tales. The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue is a gay, historical fantasy, adventure novel set in Europe and the UK. Legend is an enemies to lovers dystopian novel set in a future United States. The Cruel Prince is an enemies to lovers fantasy novel.
I don't know much about the sci-fi genre, though. Sorry about that.
So, I am planning on buying some new books this summer and I need some recommendations. I am looking for either clean young adult or middle grade books, any genre, just please only recommend clean books with minimal swearing and nothing more than kissing. I would especially like a book with beautiful or unique writing. Thanks in advance and happy reading!

Ny {when my book is open, your mouth is closed} wrote: "I’m getting back into classics. Anyone got good ones?"I still love Persuasion, North and South, & Jane Eyre.
I also hear good things about The Tenant of Wildfell Hall.
Ivanhoe is a fun historical adventure novel, great for a fan of Robin Hood stories (There is Discourse about how progressive/regressive it's depiction of Jewish characters is though - Victorian Attitudes), Treasure Island has Pirates.
A Little Princess for something lighter (some angst) and The Book of Three or Five Children and It for some Classic Fantasy
