This is a Narrative Poetry work, that tells a singular story over the course of 47 poems.
It is a story of how misunderstandings and misfortune, led to a mutually unrequited love.
Sample Poem:
Unrequited
Our love was the saddest dance, Two people desperately taking a chance, Hearts longing to grasp, Simply unable to clasp,
We both tried to reach the other, But fate wouldn’t allow it to be, It is unthinkable how it was all a tragedy,
From the first start what chance we had? As we gently walked towards each other, Both too scared to love openly, Until it was far too late we both discovered;
Has this ever happened before, When Unrequited love was mutually endured? Did someone in Heaven drop the ball? Was Cupid drunk and in a stupor?
This collection is a record, Of the misfortune to befall us, Hopefully other lovers read it, To avoid our sad fate,
Unrequited love should never be mutual, It should always leave a sting, But for both hearts to bear it, Is a melody too unthinkable to repeat,
I pray this is the only time, Two prospective lovers fall into the mire, The sad depressing depths, Of Unrequited love.
