and I only ask because i used to watch BookswithChloe on youtube and she said that she get's unsolicited ARCs and she never asks for them but still gets them anyway...so i didn't know you could actually ask publishers for them

Some publishers/authors will contact you asking if you will read and review their book! I have gotten two PM's asking me to read and review their work!

you should also include your stats on those platforms (ex: 100 blog followers, 234 goodreads friends and followers), add your netgalley/edelweiss email or address if you're asking for a physical ARC, isbn and release date of the book, and why you're requesting it!

i know it's a lot but i actually have better luck emailing publishers directly :')

I've been too scared to request arcs directly from publishers so I just use netgalley to get arcs

Hey guys! I was wondering if any of you had any advice about writing reviews for books or about getting Arcs. I'm still new so I'm not really good at writing reviews and I've been wanting to get some Arcs but I have no idea where to start.

NetGalley is a good place to start getting ARCs if you like reading eBooks. I've been approved for a bunch of ARCs on there

Is there anywhere you can get physical books or is it mainly just if you win giveaways and other things like that?

How do you request an ARC

You email the publisher who is publishing the book you are interested in and ask them for one. Do you want the format I use when requesting arcs?

How do you find the email of the publisher?

You look up the publishing company and look around their website until you find a specific publishers email (typically the on whose helping with the publishing of the book) or you can look for a part that says "media inquiries" or "review copies" and those typically have emails you can message or forms to fill out. If you happen to email the wrong person they will diret you to the right one!

Ellie Hayes and the Himbos by Vanessa King and
How To Write A Love Story by Catherine Walsh are wonderful RomComs

Every Tom, Dick, and Harry by Elinor Lipman is absolutely hilarious

Will Eisner A Comics Biography and Talking To My Father's Ghost by Alex Krokus are great graphic novels

Once In A Blue Moon by Lorna Landvik is the second book in the Patty Jane's House of Curls series

Some of the ones I read are old because I get them free from the library (since they are not allowed to sell them)

I am fortunate to obtain the majority of my ARCs from the library. One of the employees used to work at The Tattered Cover bookstore and she still has all her contacts with publishers. I also am able to win some from the Goodreads giveaway but usually only one at most.

Have any of you checked out independent bookstores? They receive ARCs on a regular basis and will give them away to customers and some of them ask for a small donation for some local nonprofit.

That's great! I mostly get ARCS from NetGalley and Booksprout.

So lucky you have libraries, there are almost none in my country and the ones that are there are paid with expensive subscription fees.
