I'm going to embrace the nordic noir and go with The Bat. I've read a few books in the series, out of order and varying times in between, so going to the beginning should be the smart thing to do.
I will be reading The Solitaire Mystery which is SO BORING as Jostein Gaarder is basically the only Norwegian author I've ever read in my life. But at the same time, I'm determined to minimize my stack of unread books so I don't really have a choice 🤷♀️
I really recommend The Orange Girl though!

i'm leaning towards either The Orange Girl or The Snowman - but i can't wait to see what the ONTD post suggests!
Hi! I'm Norwegian, also helped the mod with the ONTD post(I think?)
If you have any questions or need any tips etc. Just ask, and I will try to help :)
I have only used goodreads for "to-read" list. In the meantime i should update the Norwegian books I have read.
I think my favourite book by norweagian author is Vigdis Hjorth, and the book Will and Testament
Thinking maybe I should read the book in english to see how the translation went.
I bought two books for March and one of them is Hunger. The other one is written by Dag Solstad but I have to look for the name since the book is in Turkish. This is so exciting!
I completely forgot I'd already picked out The Mercies for this month even though I only decided that about a week ago lol oops.
I wasn't sure what I was going to read this challenge but I think I'm going to reread Ghosts by Henrik Ibsen since I had to read it in highschool and didn't mind it from what I remember.
Hey guys, sorry, I had a really busy day and didn't manage to finish the post today. I'll do it tomorrow.

Sorry, RIN, the author is British.

I'm planning to read the Solitaire mystery and Berlin Poplars. possibly a Norwegian scandi crime too.
Love the ONTD post! Thank you to everyone involved in making that happen!I have decided to go with Don't Look Back and The Snowman. i couldn't decide between the two and my library has both, so i'll read both, i guess!
I'm currently making my way through Norwegian Folktales. Not sure if I'll be able to read anything else, because I haven't even managed to finish the first two reading challenges, but I'm also interested in starting Sigrid Undset's Kristin Lavransdatter trilogy.
I'm going to read My Struggle: Book One as my library has that, the rest of his books in the series, and his seasonal series. If I like, I'll have plenty to choose from. :)
I’ll be reading https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... One of Us by Åsne Seierstad. Pretty hefty read, but gives a non fiction glimpse into Norway and one of Norway’s biggest tragedies.
At first I wanted to try Tarjei Vesaas, but I'm not quite in the right mindset, so it'll be Medusa by Torkil Damhaug instead.
Been wanting to read Vigdis Hjorth so this presents a perfect opportunity to do so! I picked up Will and Testament for this month.

Oh no! lol okay back to the drawing board, thank you!
edit: Okay, so I struggled finding something I was interested in; I considered The Way Through the Woods: Of Mushrooms and Mourning or The History of Bees but idk, I'm not in the mood for those right now? So I might go with The Faster I Walk, the Smaller I Am because it's short and weird lol.
I’m picking The Bat for this month - I’ve never read anything by Jo Nesbø, so I’m very curious! I really wanted to read the Kristin Lavransdatter trilogy by Sigrid Undset, but my library didn’t have it and I couldn’t find it at any of my local used bookstores.
after being let down by The Snowman i am about halfway through Don't Look Back and i am enjoying this one much more!

For this year's challenge, we'll be reading books written by authors born in the country of the month, but the language it was written in doesn't matter. The genre of the book also doesn't matter.
March's month is NORWAY.
