Rick Riordan! I feel he has really diverse characters, and I just love the Percy Jackson series <3

RICK RIORDAN. In my opinion, Rick Riordan is the better author by far. Here are my reasons:
1. The characters: Rick Riordan's characters are all super great characters, they're all complex and have lots of character development, and most importantly, they're relatable. I could never really relate with of JKR's characters.
2. The writing: This is debatable, but IMO RR's writing is the best there is. Though it's pretty simple, it's really funny! To me, being funny is one of the things that can make or break a book. Obviously that's not all there is, but it just makes the read so much more fun. Also, it's descriptive enough that you get a good picture, but not overly descriptive. Plus, it had great pacing! Super fast pace, but not so fast that you're like "wait 3 months have passed? I thought it was only 2 days!"
3. The diversity. Need i really say anything about this? Rick has TONS of diversity, so every single person can relate to someone. JKR has zero diversity. Yes, there was a few mistakes in RR's diversity, like giving Piper feathers, but overall he did an amazing job. He obviously tried as hard as he could to make a character for every kid out there and for the most part succeded. JKR has not tried at all to include ANY diversity at all.
4. RR is just a better person overall. Even if you thought the books were just as good with each other (though i have to disagree, Riordanverse is far more superior) then please keep in mind who you want to give your money to.
