description
Welcome one, welcome all, Bookish Worms, to the...
Rainbow Reading Team Bingo Challenge!!!!

We have been looking forward to hosting a bingo challenge for a while now, and decided it would be perfect for March. See below for the information.

The Basics:
We have created a bingo board with different colors on it. The theme of this challenge is "Rainbow Reading," so cover colors of books. Each color on the board represents a color of a book to find and read.
Each participant will be placed in a team of about 4 people total. If you sign up, please don't forget about the challenge!

Goal:
Each team's goal is to complete at least one "bingo," which for this board is either a row of 5 or 7. The team who completes the most bingos/points (or covers the whole board) wins! Teams will need to work together to get the bingo. Plan out who can read what colors.

Points:
Each bingo is worth a certain number of points! Vertical bingos have 2 extra squares so they are worth more than horizontal and diagonal.

Horizontal (5 squares) : 1 point
Diagonal (5 squares) : 1 point
Vertical (7 squares) : 2 points

Time Frame:
This challenge will begin on March 1st and end on March 31st.

Rules:
- Book Covers must be AT LEAST 50% of the color you list for that book to count
- All books MUST be 200 pages long or more
- Audiobooks are allowed, but the physical version must be 250 + pages
- Comics, manga, picture/children's, webtoons, cookbooks, instructional books DO NOT count
- Books are only counted in the time frame of March 1st - 31st
- Re - reads are allowed
- You must start the book in March and finish it within the time frame
- If you sign up please make sure that you are being active, if you don’t think you can participate fully don’t sign up
- Books are not required to be YA (middle-grade and adult count)
- Read! Read! And have a great time!

Here is the bingo board: (under spoiler)

Yes! Ebooks count as long as the physical version is 200+ pages
Each time you finish a book for your team, you will be making a completion post and I will mark off the board on a seperate document that will be shared shortly :)
Hope that helps!

Nemesis (opal_gemstone_954) | 158 comments When does this start? 'Cause I finished a book yesterday and am nearly done with one today. Also, do rereads count?

message 24: by [deleted user] (last edited Mar 02, 2021 02:03PM) (new)

The challenge started yesterday, March 1st. :)
All book need to be started and finished between March 1st and March 31st, so if you started and finished the book yesterday, it counts.
Rereads do count!

What do you mean? When you finish a book, you post a completion post for that book.

I was asking how to go about that. Where do we post the completion post? And is there a format?

Ok so everything for this challenge is in the folder. You need to see which team you are on and head to that thread; introduce yourself and chat, plan out who will be reading with cover colors. There is a thread titled "Completed Books" and all the completition post format and information is listed on that thread.
Here is a link: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

All of the team threads can be found in the readathon folder .

Sorry but the deadline for sign ups has passed, and all of our teams are even, so it wouldn't be fair to add someone else. Sorry!
