Hi, my name is Angie. I live in the Denver CO area. I have so many favorite historical fiction books, including The Nightingale, Code Name Helene, and A Gentleman in Moscow to name a few! Excited for this group :)

Historical fiction is one of my favorite genres! I just finished up my first readathon which was Historathon & it was so much fun. Some of my favorite historical fiction books are Outlander, Jane Eyre, Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe, As Bright as Heaven....so many!! I'm really excited Angie is starting this book club!! I'm looking forward to reading some great books & discussing them with y'all. ♥️

I live in Northern part of Indiana. I homeschool lots of kids including 5 of my own and whoever shows up at our home during school hours. I have a lot of historical fiction books I really love, like Gentleman in Moscow, The Nightengale, Fountains of Silence, and much more.
One reason why I love joining in on read a longs like this and book clubs is learning about new books.

Historical fiction books that I have placed on my Goodreads 'favorites' shelf are:
A Piece of the World by Christina Baker Kline
Exiles by Christina Baker Kline
These is My Words: The Diary of Sarah Agnes Prine, 1881-1901 by Nancy E. Turner
The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek by Kim Michelle Richardson
Finding Dorothy by Elizabeth Letts
Conjure Women by Afia Atakora
Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys
The Summer of '69 by Elin Hilderbrand
Genre books I have loved that are based in historical events are;
The Cabinets of Barnaby Mayne by Elsa Hart
Murder in Old Bombay by Nev March
The Winternight Trilogy by Katherine Arden
Sweep: The Story of a Girl and Her Monster by Jonathan Auxier
I look forward to seeing which titles this book club will choose. I limit buying books due to space and budget; I get most from the library and the first selection - Four Winds by Kristin Hannah - has hundreds of holds in all forms at our large city library; so will not be able to read it now. The same goes for many of her backlist titles as well, a testimony to the fact that she is a very popular/beloved author. So if I can find a book by her that is immediately available I might read an alternate title.

I am a grandmother to a handsome 1 yr old boy and hope to be the one to introduce him to reading some day.
I love reading especially Historical Fiction. One of my favorite authors is Kristin Hannah, love most of her books.
I am excited to join the book club.

Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen, The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and Daisy Jones and the Six both by Taylor Jenkins Reid and The Lions of Fifth Avenue by Fiona Davis. Two recent favorites of mine are The Children’s Blizzard by Melanie Benjamin and The Nature of Fragile Things by Susan Meissner. I also love WWII historical fiction books. I am very excited to read The Four Winds.

I'm anxious to see how you like both books!

Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate is a wonderful novel. It is based on true events and takes place in Memphis, TN in 1939. I would highly recommend giving it a read. :)

I am a social worker by trade, having lost my job just prior to the pandemic. We became a homeschool family and I have recently dived back in to reading!
I have learned that historical fiction is why I am naturally drawn to want to read. I enjoy reading stories about people during real time periods, often transporting myself to that time and thinking how different the world was then.
Thank you for hosting this Angie! I enjoy your YouTube channel and all of your recommendations!

I love historical fiction though I’ve taken the last few years off from reading books set in WWII as I felt like I had read so many set in that time period. I’m now feeling like I want to dip my toes back into that era.
I am a sucker for anything with a dual timeline and have loved historical fiction books by Fiona Davis, Amor Towles, Alka Joshi and JoJo Moyes.
I have a Bookstagram account @jensreadinglife if anyone wants to connect there as well.
I’m so excited to be a part of this group!

I’ve always wanted to join a book club so I am excited about this! I have been wanting to read ‘The Four Winds’
I especially love historical fiction and middle grade books. 📚
