Wings of Fire - The Last Hope discussion

Yucca, soared through the heat of the desert. She was only out of the stronghold because she wanted to stretch her wings. She tilted her orange-purple ombre wings and they caught the sun, making them shine and sparkle. Finally after a couple of minutes, Yucca landed on the hot sand next to a oasis. Of course she didn't need need to drink any water for now but she wanted too. She neared the water and as she came closer, Yucca looked out for any prey to eat.

Echo walked around the oasis, mostly in the trees. She suddenly heard the rustle of wings and froze. She turned all the skin she could to a color to blend in.

Abyss landed in the far side of the water after flying from The Kingdom of Sea to The Kingdom of Sand

After having a short drink, Yucca straightened back up. She sighed when she couldn't find any prey to feed on. Her ears perked up when she heard a faint bit of movement over to her left. She assumed the sound was coming for the outskirts of the oasis. The tree possibly? Even if Yucca didn't look it, she was quite smart. After a few beats of the heart, she turned towards where she thought the sound was coming from. She suddenly frowned, she heard another sound, she turned again and noticed a...SeaWing. What's a SeaWing doing out here? She asked herself.

Echo held her breath. This could be a bad dragon. Her parents taught her to not trust dragon you didn't know.

Yucca narrowed her eyes at the SeaWing before suddenly flaring her large wings. She appeared infront of where she thought the first sound was. She looked for a few minutes and when she couldn't find anything, she sighed. Yucca's hunting skills must have been just acting up. Or just sensing the SeaWing.

Echo attempts to get away. Then she steps on a twig. She winces. "Dang it." She whispers

Yucca turns back around in a flash. She swore she heard something, "Come out, come out where ever you are" She sang out. Yucca stepped closer to the trees and the sound of the twig snapping.

Echo changes to her normal color. "Sorry." She says.

Yucca studied the new dragon. She glanced back at the SeaWing before turning back to the dragon infront of her. She cleared her throat, "Wandering around in the desert. Do you have a death wish?" Yucca asked the other dragon before giving her a smile, "Just kidding, I'm Princess Yucca of the SandWings" She announced.

"Oh! Sorry your highness!" She bows her head. "I was just passing though! I can go if you want." She says.

"No!" Yucca said quickly, and to be fair, a bit loudly. "You can't leave! I only just found you" She continued, "You see, I don't normally get out of the stronghold. You're probably one of the first Rain- Wait what tribe are you from?" She asked before going on, "Anyways, I don't met many dragons. So, I'd like you to stay" Yucca said, "If you want" She added.

"Then I will!" She says, sitting down. "I'm a hybrid by the way. NightWing and RainWing." She says proudly.

Yucca sent the dragon a smile, "That's mangotastic" She said while with a smirk, "I've never met a hybrid before, at least I think. I'm a pure SandWing" She added onto her first statement. "If this the first time you've been out of the Rain Forest, assuming that's where you live" Yucca said while also sitting down, her colored wings settled next to her.

"Mangotastic?" She asks but thinks better of it. "Actually I live with the NightWings. My mom also lives with us."

"Get it. Mangos, RainWings." Yucca says before frowning, "Sorry if that was offensive" She added as her wings lay flat, "Oo! You live with the NightWings? That's so cool! I met a NightWing once before. I forget where. Maybe near the Den" She said with a shrug.

"Ohhhhh." She laughs. "I get it now!" She keeps laughing. "Yeah. The NightWings are cool. I was just trying to get out for a bit."

Yucca laughs along with the other dragon, "I don't think I got your name. Is it Poppyseed?" She guessed. "Do they have anymore powers? I knew they didn't during the whole War but you never know. They could have come back. I'm not told anything really" Yucca said.

"Poppyseed? No! I'm Echo!" She says. "I...don't really know. I don't really have powers." She says. "Just changing color. And even then, it's only partial." She says changing her colors so she looks like this:

Yucca made an awe sound, "That's still pretty cool. And nice name Echo. Better then Poppyseed" She said before saying, "Eh that's alright, I just wanted to check. Don't want anymore surprises for my tribe, they've been through enough these last few years" Yucca says with a hint of over protection.

"Why? What's happened?" She asks. Her parents usually kept these things from her.

"Well you know...the whole SandWing Queen thing? With Blaze, Burn, and Blister? My tribe has lost to many dragons. If the NightWings randomly appear with powers then we might be doomed" Yucca said before wincing, "Uh no offense. I don't mean you of course"

"Of course." She smiles.

((Should I request for Echo to have powers and they'll randomly manifest out of nowhere?))

((Ooo good idea. You totally should! Let the plot thicken))

Yucca sighed and inched a bit towards the shade of the trees before saying, "Yeah anyways, even if any other tribe pops up with weird powers, it won't be good for the SandWings since we're so low on numbers" She said while thinking, While of course they'd have me and my magic and a few other dragons...

"Well, you can call and I will help!" She says happily. "I probably can't do much though."

"Thanks, I'll try and remember that" Yucca says with a smile. Maybe she had made a friend. "As long as you don't fall over like a dead snail, I'm sure you'd help lots"

"I think I can manage that!" She smiles happily.

((When should echo manifest?"

((Hmm...we could do a time-skip, say a few days or weeks and her powers start to develop. Like she can read minds or something?))

"That's good! I don't need a bunch of snails in my army" Yucca says laughing, "I could probably get the IceWings on my side too and maybe the MudWings" She says while her claws trail the sand.

((Ok!!!!!))

Echo laughs. "On my traveld I'm sure I'll find some people!" She says

Yucca tilted her head, "You travel a lot? I've never been out of the Kingdom of Sand before. What's it like out there? You know in the real world?" She asked, "Wait correction, I've been to the mountains and the Ice Kingdom outskirts"

"Not yet. Mom and Dad say I have to be a little older." She says sadly.

"Well that's disappointing. Maybe we could travel together sometime, after Mother gets another heir. I'd rather not go to those meetings" Yucca says with a shiver. She really did hate those meetings.

"Of course!" She says excitedly. She finally had a friend!

Yucca gave her a grin and flapped her wings slightly, making the surrounding sand fly, "Cool! Thanks, it'd be good traveling with a friend. We are friends now right?" She asks slightly worried Echo would say no.

Echo smiles widely. "Yes!!!" She says jumping around happily.

Yucca smiles at Echo again, "Great! You have the honors of become my first real friend" She said with another grin.

Abyss was looking at them A Sandwing and a Night-Rainwing? I don't know if I should introduce myself he thought then went under the water

Echo smiles happily. "I don't know if you've noticed but there is a SeaWing in the water." She whispers.

Yucca glances back where she first saw the SeaWing before looking to the water, "Ah yes, I saw one when I first landed. It's a bit weird for a SeaWing to be all the way out here. Less common then a SandWing or IceWing or maybe a SkyWing" She says.

"Have you ever seen a RainWing?" Echo asks hopefully. She could never bring herself to go to RainWing Territory.

Yucca closed her eyes in thought without opening them she said, "I did. There were two but they didn't appear at the same times. One was mostly a pink color. I watched them turn they're scales to match an IceWings. And then the other..." She paused, "A sickly green dragon. He's scales seemed to never shift. But this dragon was weird. Not only could he not change the color of his scales, he disappeared and a NightWing appeared instead" Yucca frowns as she opens her eyes, "Other then that and Queen Glory, Ive never seen a RainWing out here"

"Huh." She said. "Are you good at giving advice?" Echo asks quietly

"Advice?" Yucca repeated laughing, "Sometimes. But not love advice. All other advice I can do. Why do you ask?" She says.

"Should I go to the RainWing Kingdom? I've never been before." She says quickly

Yucca quicklg stopped laughing, seeing as this seemed like a serious matter. "Well Im going to be honest with you Echo, The RainForest seems nice. Its warm, colorful, and overal nice. Or so Im told. I cant tell you whether you should go or not but I can say, just follow you gut. If you choose to go. Nobody is going to shame you for it. And even if you choose not to go, it would be just as fine. Do you want to go?" Yucca asked.

"I just want to see dragons that are kind of like me." She says, looking at the trees.
