daughters of a king of a kingdom are raised to be able to kill the prince/king of a neighbouring kingdom. there are around 10 daughters all from different mothers from the king's harem. they are all very skilled in fighting, swordplay and seduction and they live in the middle of a desert so that others cant find them. the night before one of them is chosen to become married, one poisons all the others, leaving only the king and the man who trained all of them alive. unbeknownst to them, she didn't actually kill them and they are still alive. she gets married. her and the prince get close and the princess realises that her father is a terrible person. they travel to a town at the edge of her kingdom at an inn and meet a female friend of the prince's who owns it. i cant remember what else happens.

in the second book the prince is kidnapped by the king and taken to his castle. the princess hatches a plan to get him back by contacted her other sisters. one of them is pregnant. they say that when they woke up the place was burning and they didn't know where she was so they searched for her, but there was actually a note in one of their pockets explaining what happened. they go to the inn and meet the female friend. meanwhile the prince gets close to a woman from the previous king's harem, and she works with the other girls to save him. they meet in a flower shop. the girls get into the castle by posing as performers and get him back. the princess and the prince are meant to go somewhere but there are people following them so they have to make a detour through the desert. they travel for days and get extremely dehydrated. there is a huge sandstorm and the prince passes out but the princess is able to carry them to safety at some sort of abandoned house because she was trained in these conditions. there is only dirty water there but its enough to keep them both alive. the prince is amazed that she was able to save him.
