Oooh yeah I loved the Murder of Roger Ackroyd - it took me till the last few pages to guess who it actually was! Felt sorry for the sister tho...

Dreamer Yeah, me too... I liked Caroline. And I couldn't even imagine who the murderer was till the very last moment! I was actually shoked

Dreamer Okay, great!

So, I'm on the second chapter and I'm already getting all these mysterious and eerie vibes... who on earth are the Owens? Are they going to come at all? I doubt since with the Rogers it's already ten people... On the other hand, we haven't gotten a pov from the Rogers yet... They (the Owens) seem up to no good... Also, I think Dr Armstrong might die (just a hunch) coz of what he said, "A world, perhaps, from which you might never return." idk... Also, Mr Justice Wargrave knows him and dislikes him... hmmm...The characters seem strange, esp since there's nothing common between them - except that none of them really know the Owens... Also who on earth is Mr Blore?! Clearly up to no good... but also pretty insecure so I'm guessing that he's pretty inexperienced when it comes to playing the bad guy... I like how we get to know their thoughts (with the exception of the Rogers)!

Anyway, just my thoughts:)

So... I typed this message a few hours ago but we had a thunderstorm and had to switch of the wifi, so I'll continue my update here:

Just finished Chapter 3... wow. creepy. U.N.Owen= Unknown huh? Lombards a fishy guy, he seemed to find that grammarphone a bit too fast... and he also chooses to lie about how he was invited... so now we know that all the character's DO have something in common: they're all APPARENTLY responsible for at least one death... maybe the deaths were connected in someway and someone affected by all of them wanted to get revenge so he decided to kill the ten of them off one by one... idk??

Hope you're liking my wild theories :D

Ugh this thunderstorm's not stopping, so I'm going to have to post this later:/

Anyway, I just finished chapter 4! Ok... so they're a bunch of liars... I love how Christie gives us access to some of their thoughts but not everyone's, for example we have no details of Emily's murder...suspicious... Lol I love how honest Lombard is with the acceptance of his involvement tho he isn't with his invitation here... Also, why are they lying? I mean they clearly know that they were all responsible for some murder either way... and the more clean they come out the easier it will be to solve this mystery... So: car driver guy (I've already forgotten his name) died... it matches up with that rhyme doesn't it - he died choking... hmm... but then tbh I wasn't expecting HIM to be killed off first, idk why...

Oh well, back to some revision for now 😕

Dreamer Wow, you really understand what's going on. The first time I read it, I was like: wait, who is WHO? I was soo confused! Your thoughts are so intresting actually, and sorry I didn't unswer earlier, but I wasn't at home. Personally, I find it really intresting to reread the book now that I know what happens, I see everything in another way.. By the way, the name of the driver is Tony Marston, I think. Who's your fav character till now? I personally loved (and still love) Vera and Lombart. Good luck at your exams :)

Dreamer Okay, I'm going to read some more chapters ( i am still on chapter 2) :)

Thanks! Idk... I think I probably like Lombart the best coz of his attitude...

Wow, this is getting intense... read up to chapter 10 now... I suspect Dr Armstrong because he has all the opportunities or Lombard coz he just seems a bit suspicious in how he acts like his is partly responsible... but they're all fishy!!!

message 27: by Dreamer (last edited Mar 09, 2021 03:51AM) (new) - rated it 3 stars

Dreamer Yeah, I know, I'm in chapter 6 right now. At the beggining I suspected Doctor Armstrong and Vera, although I changed my mind many times during the book.

Dreamer Okay, I just finished chapter 10! I'm so excited! The best part beggins tommorow! :)

Sorry abt reading ahead... I couldn't resist it - a good book is usually one I find INCREDIBLY hard to put down (this definitely falls in that category)

This is what I think (go ahead laugh at my theories XD)

Ok so only just a bit left to go... and 3 people alive... this book is sooo creepy!! At this point, I actually don't think it's one of them... I think it's someone else, somehow... or maybe all of them each murdered one person since at least at one point, they each had the oppurtunity to... and maybe the real unknown person who's avenging all their murders is just getting each of them to murder someone else... idk... somehow I get a feeling that Vera's gonna hang herself - that big hook can't be put there for pure coincidence, along with the seaweed that could only act as a rope...

Dreamer WOW! Chapter 15? That's great! I tottally get it, I couldn't stop reading the first time either! And I was the same confused, like WHAT"S GOING ON??? It's the fact that all Agatha Christie's books have an unexpected ending. Okay, I'm a little behind, but I don't think that is actually a probmem since I have already red it! By the way, please let me know when you finish the book, I really want to know how will you react with the ending! :)))))

Dreamer And I LOVE your theories.... thay make quite sense!

Dreamer Can't wait to talk about this book when you finish it!!!!!!!!!!

message 37: by Hannah:), in charge of polls (new) - rated it 5 stars

Haha thanks, yeah I've NEVER been able to guess correctly who the murderer was (until it's like the last few chapters) but in this case with one chapter to go I still have no clueeee!! Agatha Christie is one genius to be able to come up with such incredible plots!!

Are you sure you're fine with me reading on?
Also, how is it rereading now that you know what the ending is gonna be like?? Ig u must be picking up on all the hints missed the first time that suggest the murderer??

Dreamer Yeah, I'm totally fine if you continue (I can really understand how you must feel riht now). And, yeah, re-reading is so strange and intresting at the same time, because you realise that everything makes sense after all! I'll agree that Agatha is a genius... only she could write something like THAT!

P.S. I promise you'll be sooooo suprised whan you read who the murderer actually is. Sooooo, have fun ending the book!

Dreamer Then go find out what happens! (I would suggest you to read the ending today, otherwise you won't be aable to sleep probably)

I just finished it... feeling sooo confused... so why did Mr Morris do this?? how did he arrange things if he was off the island?? Who tidied up the deaths and smashed the statues?? So this is an unsolvable mystery?? Woahhh... I was NOT expecting this!!

message 44: by Dreamer (last edited Mar 09, 2021 11:15AM) (new) - rated it 3 stars

Dreamer Weyyyyyy! You finished it? Well, welcome to the paradise of WTF is going on, I hadn't even imagined it!Oh my God, I LOVE this book! And since you rated it 5 stars, I can guess you loved it too! Sooooooo excited!

Wait, I just read more carefull your questions (before I was excited by the phrase "finished it", and didn't pay too much attention to the questions). It is not an unsolved mystery. It was Wargrave who did everything, not Morris... it says it on the letter... Now I am a little confused too.. Have I undersand something wrong?

message 45: by Hannah:), in charge of polls (new) - rated it 5 stars

Hannah:) | 263 comments Mod
huhhh? Yeah when I flicked through some of the comments they mentioned wargrave... but in my book it actually gave me no answer and left it to the Scotland yard graveyard finding out that Morris was Mr Owens... idk?? maybe I somehow got a wrong edition (I was reading a free ebook) hmmm.... well now that you said Wargrave was responsible - how??? lemme go find another ebook with the correct ending 😂

message 46: by Hannah:), in charge of polls (new) - rated it 5 stars

Hannah:) | 263 comments Mod
but wait wasn't Wargrave like shot in the head??? At least that's what happened in my edition... and Vera was the last one alive... before she hanged herself (yay I guessed that right!)

message 47: by Hannah:), in charge of polls (new) - rated it 5 stars

Hannah:) | 263 comments Mod
Ok so I found another edition!! Woahhhh so it was Wargrave after all!!! Lol I didn't find the letter so I only thought it was Morris 😂 but that makes it even cooler - woah how on earth did he fool them with red clay?!! This is such a good book!! I'm just completely taken by surprise!

Dreamer OHHHH, YOU FINISHED IT!!!!! Isn't it completly shocking when you realise the truth? I couldn't realise it, but it all makes sense. I believe it's the best mystery book EVER. By the way, I am the only one who cried when Vera shot Lombart?

message 49: by Hannah:), in charge of polls (new) - rated it 5 stars

Hannah:) | 263 comments Mod
Ikr!!! Like how??? I was stunned when Vera shot him, I always thought he'd be able to get out of all trouble, guess it wasn't the case...

message 50: by Dreamer (last edited Mar 10, 2021 02:01AM) (new) - rated it 3 stars

Dreamer Yesss, I loved both Vera and Lombard. By the way, there is a mini seies based on this book, and, fom th one hand, I want to watch it because, come on, it's and then there were none, but from the other side I think it will ruin the way I have imagined it so.... I don't know
