So I went through and found some books we both had on our TBRs. I think this is a good starting point, but if none of these interest you then lmk and we can look for others.

The Valley and the Flood (I just got this one from Barnes and Noble and it looks interesting but it just came out so I didn't know if you had a copy)

Would you be interested in reading All That Glitters? This used to be called Enchantee but there was a title change. I hate the title change, but we're not going to discuss that

We could also read A Darker Shade of Magic if you were interested

Yes, that sounds good! I've been wanting to read it for a long time, but I haven't gotten around to it.

Wait, I wonder why they changed it? It's so weird! My library still has it under Enchantee

It's one of my favorites!

They changed it because 'it was too hard to pronounce'. Now the titles and covers are horrible. It's why I haven't bought the second book yet.

I'm currently buddy reading SoC, so we can start with that! How fast do you normally read?

Hey, I just got home from work so sorry about not replying earlier! I am planning on starting it tonight and hopefully making some decent progress 🙂

That's ok! I just am settling down to read as well. Would you mind me asking what timezone you are in? This way we can coordinate when it is best for each of us to discuss and deliberate or just to get in touch with each other.

Also, I saw that your favorite Hamilton songs included Satisfied and Non-Stop. Non-Stop is my absolute favorite, but I can never find anyone else who loves it as well.

YES, Non-Stop is one of my favorites! It's probably my second favorite. I've also never met anyone else who loves it as much as I do - until now lol! It's so underrated. My all time favorite is Wait For It but I honestly listen to Non-Stop more

IT IS! No one else ever seems to love it haha. I also love Dear Theodosia and It's Quiet Uptown

Those are great ones! My other favorites are Burn and Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story. Overall the soundtrack is really good.

Do you like other musicals as well? I love Les Mis and The Sound of Music.

I haven't listened to Les Mis, but I also love The Sound of Music, and Austria in general. I have a weird obsession with moving to Hallstatt, Austria and eating all the croissants.

I love Dear Evan Hansen, Six, Oklahoma, Anastasia, Camelot, and South Pacific!

Have you listened to Found/Tonight? It's Ben Platt and Lin Manuel Miranda and it is SO good

I have never really gotten into Dear Evan Hansen honestly, but I've heard good things about it. Okay wait, somebody mentioned Six recently and it sounded super intriguing. Isn't that the one about Henry VIII's wives?

It is! Six is wonderful and it's really short. The entire soundtrack is only 49 minutes long.

Honestly, I love DEH because of Ben Platt. His voice is so amazing and I love Words Fail.

That's okay! This is a super busy time for me too rn. I have been applying for college scholarships and stuff like that lol

I also have exams coming up, so all of us are going to be a bit slow.

Speaking of which, what page of SoC are you on, Emma?

I’m only on page 35 right now, but it’s so good so far! I really wish I could just read it all but I don’t have the time right now

I'm on page 129, but I haven't had any time to read it. The only reason I've read so much is that it is a re-read and it is much easier to find the 'reading zone'.

I have read 15 pages but it's hard to put down the book

It really is! I had to take a break to do some schoolwork and I can't handle the wait!

I'm debating to whether read a little everyday or just read all at once after the exams

I wish I could read all day but I have a paper due at midnight 😭

I haven't been able to read much, but it is really confusing at the beginning, or is it just me ?? also reading in pieces doesn't help, so I might read it all together

I always skip over the first chapter and go straight to the real first chapter (Inej's perspective). It's meant to be a bit confusing, but it all unravels so well. I had to finish it two days ago because a friend of mine needed a copy of the book.

I also skipped the first chapter. My first time trying to read it I got stuck there and didn’t make it that far. Now I’m doing much better with that out of the way

Yep! I have an audiobook right now and I'll be able to get a physical copy from my library soon. I'll probably do a combination of reading it physically and listening.
