Life’s Dirty Dishes

Life comes with dirty dishes, and dish washing. Thank God for automatic dishwashers. Unfortunately, some of life's dishes have to be hand washed. Fun stuff.

So, what do you do when the dirty dishes start stacking up? Well first of all, maybe it would be better to wash them daily, rather than waiting till the kitchen is overflowing with dishes and you find yourself standing there overwhelmed. Otherwise the months and sometimes even seasons pass, and before you know it, you have stacks of dirty dishes.

You see, we all create dirty dishes in life, and many times we have to clean up our own messes. The key (which is just not that simple) is not to make messes and end up with stacks of dirty dishes.

The dishes are the plates that we create, and the messes are the decisions that we make, and/or do not make. You might say, "How is that possible?" Oh, that's easy, we are all human, and live in these flesh bodies." No not one.

And God Did

Remember the story of Faithful Abraham in Genesis. Abraham was to sacrifice his son. Yet something interesting happened at the foot of the mountain where Abraham was to sacrifice his son.
Abraham approached the lads and said, “…watch the donkeys, the boy and I go yonder, worship and come unto you again.” Interesting.

Then on the way up the mount, father we have this, and we have that, but where is the lamb for the burnt offering, the son asked.
Abraham's reply: Gen 22:8, And Abraham said, “My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering”, so they went both of them together.

And God did. Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary.

Forgiveness Extensions

Sometimes life is just not a bowl of cherries. There are times when people can treat you unfairly and be quite rude. There are times when people can out and out treat you with extreme cruelties.

Sometimes the offenses are so damaging that they affect us for days, weeks, months and even years. Yet, the person that inflicted the offences has many times gone on with their life. Some to be consumed and others not.

Let me encourage you to pull the plug on what they have casted upon you. Let it go. Forgive them and put the matter behind you. In doing so, you set yourself free from the effects of what they have done to you.

Rather than living in the situation and allowing it to affect your life and have rule over you. Set yourself free from it by simply extending forgiveness.
