I posted my list long ago, but I forgot Zappa; how rude! I love his quote: "So many books, so little time". Proved prophetic for him. I think I'm going to play his 'Hot Rats' album in memorium.

Well, he was 80 but Charlie Watts.
I was sort of expecting this, especially in light of him bowing out of the upcoming tour, but it still threw me for a loop. Another small piece of my childhood just went in smoke and punched another hole in the ozone layer. In perfect 4/4 time, that is.
I dunno... Say what you will about Keith Moon and John Bonham (they were both two of Mother Nature's greatest special effects) but Charlie grabbed that shit by the scruff of the neck and made it SWING!
I remember Keith saying several years ago that if anything ever happened to Charlie, that would be the end of the Stones. Based on how quickly they replaced him for the tour, I call bullshit.
I say it's time for the Stones to ride off into the sunset gracefully, while there is still time.
