Emma I've been reading Chaos Walking since 2011. It's my favourite series ever. As you can imagine I've been picturing and loving this story for a long time, I can't even express how much this series means to me.

And I hated the movie. I thought it was not true to the books at all. Is was very different, and I know - you have to change things to make it appeal to the non reader audience, and in order for it to work as a movie. BUT. I think there is such thing as too many changes. I feel they just took the basics of the story and made it completely into their own thing. Even my friend who has not read the books agreed it was a bit messy and the end didn't make much sense. I mean, Todd running off to the Mayor when he finds Viola, what? That's the LAST thing he'd do! Aaron's whole existence was WTF? And the Spackle? What the hell happened there? Don't even get my started on the lack of Davy's Noise. The reasons the Mayor was chasing Todd and Vi was completely backwards!!! There is only 1 scene in the movie that was from the books (Manchee's you know) - ONE SCENE! Maybe 2, if you count Aaron and Todd at the start.

I'm going to watch it again and see if I can be brought around, but for me so far this movie is a huge disappointment and nothing like the books at all. And that makes me really, really sad. I feel like I've been betrayed by the people who made this movie. I feel the whole essence of tkonlg was lost in this movie. I don't even want to see a sequel if they're going to do to taata what they did to tkonlg (changing every effing thing). :(

message 2: by Julianna (new) - added it

Julianna I 100% agree. The movie was nothing compared to the book and some of the things todd did were most definitely something he would not have done in the book.
