i know we did a poll about this but here i thought we could talk about book pet peeves and i have one

why in series does the hardcover come out then AN ENTIRE YEAR later the paper back comes out. I read this series called Wings of Fire (highly recommended if you like fantasy) and the first book came out in 2012 i think? and the most recent book came out a few weeks ago. I have books 1-10 as paper back but the newer ones (11-13) i have in hardcover and it looks SO weird on my bookshelf

sorry for a long rant but it annoys me SO MUCH!! tell me yours!!

I hate having a mismatched book series, so it's one of my biggest pet peeves if there's a cover change in the middle of the series, so there's now all the books don't match anymore.
(e.g. the ACOTAR cover change; now the whole vibes are different and it doesn't match when you put the entire series next to each other.)

Also the covers went from absolute gorgeous perfection to the very bland, lack of effort covers. I was very confused at why SJM did that...

Ikr. If they went through all that trouble and inconvenience to do a cover change they could've at least changed it for the better. Just imagine what ACOSF could've been with the old cover style...

My biggest ones are probably torn pages and covers that don't fit - ugh whyyyy!!

When they put the movie cover for the book cover.... argh

@Addie SAMEEEEE I HATE WHEN THAT HAPPENS!!!

Some of mine are:
-Dog Corners
-bent covers
-torn/bent spines
-writing in books
-when the books in a series are different sizes UGHHHHHH
-Hardcover AND paperback books in a series (I feel like it looks sooooo weird on my shelf)

People's faces on book covers is my pet peeve. They're always awkward and whenever I'm looking at my phone instead of reading it feels like the person on the cover is staring at me and judging me lol
