Jude Thaddeus | 1 comments About a year ago my kindle paperwhite started draining its battery much more quickly than it had previously.

It didn't degrade slowly, but seemed to happen all at once. I used to be able to use one charge to read my kindle for 3-4 weeks. Now I'm lucky to get a week or so before I need to recharge. Yes, I do use airplane mode, but it makes only a slight difference.

Before I just change the battery, are there any options I could try for improving things? Might it be a bug?

Randy Harmelink | 2930 comments Are you more consistently loading up the device with a number of new books? If so, indexing of those books (so that the device can search them easily), does take a bit of battery power...

CBRetriever | 488 comments and a book can get stuck indexing which will really eat up the battery
