Giveaway: A Phantom of Delight
Jasmine wrote: "Happy March! This giveaway is for 5 e copies of A Phantom of Delight by Chris Cloake. The author asks winners for an honest Goodreads review . The giveaway is open from today, March 10th, until Mar..."Would read the book probably anyway but a giveaway would be a treat!
This sounds interesting, historical fiction is my favorite. What era? Which wars? I googled Hambleside, and presume that’s the fictional part. I’m intrigued, pick me!
If I don’t win a copy, I will definitely have to check it out! Sounds like a book I would love to have on my bookshelves!

This is two stories in one, both tied to the garden at Hambleside and the dramatic events that unfold over the course of ninety years.
Maria keeps a journal that records her epic struggle for survival in a world dominated by men and the two wars they waged.
Violent forces are unleashed that threaten to destroy her existence and take away the people she loves. Only the image of her mother, who she lost at birth, and the garden her parents created seem to offer the strength to help.
Chuck, a distant relative from Canada, arrives having inherited Hambleside. His own life has broken down and he discovers, through Maria’s incredible story, a mirror to his own despair and the challenges lying in wait..
Will the heavy history of Hambleside and the many dark secrets of the past allow him the chance of a new beginning?
