TinySalutations | 26 comments I just wanted to mention that in the audiobook version of Split Tooth, the author, Tanya Tangaq, has recorded her Inuit Throat Singing in between the chapters as well as woven into the stories.

I have no idea how this translates to the page, whether it is simply added to the audio version, or whether anything is indicated on the page in its place. I haven’t looked at the print version.

I have to say though, the experience with the added audio of her Throat Singing is not like any other story to which I’ve listened. Sometimes it makes me feel like I’ve had a bucket of ice thrown over me, sometimes it feels like I’m going to be attacked by beasts, sometimes it feels like early morning outside before everyone else woke up, sometimes it feels like too many people close together. It changes the feeling of the story she tells too.

Wow, that sounds fascinating. Now I want to buy this audiobook and I normally have difficulty keeping up with auditory stimuli.

Daria (t0pic) | 2 comments I didn't read Split Tooth yet, but I just finished reading The Yield. I liked the book, and think the story is important, athough I found the language confusing and frustrating at times (English is not my native language).

If somebody is interested, I reviewed it here:
