Love and Fury: A Novel of Mary Wollstonecraft
I recently read Love and Fury and was so impressed with the writing that when I was still finishing reading this one, I ordered this author's previous book Mr. Dicken's Carol. So I'm looking forward to reading this one very soon.
The Social Graces
After reading The Social Graces and being impressed with this author's writing I bought her five previous books. Now, they're waiting to be read :)

I've only read Windy City Blues by this author but liked it - found it took a little while to get into it, but once I did I found it to be better than expected. I actually took the risk on it buying it when it was a good price (glad I did!).
Annette wrote: "Good to hear it Simon. The Social Graces was excellent from the first to the last pages :)":) I have so many books on my "to read" list, I always have difficulty in choosing where to begin once done a book lol.
Annette wrote: "I think most of us have that problem :)"And, it's a good problem to have in my opinion :)
I do want to read The Four Winds & The Rose Code as two for sure. I quite liked Kate Quinn's writing style in The Huntress :)
Annette wrote: "I loved the Four Winds. I'm not familiar with Kate Quinn's writing."She writes WWII historical fiction, but that being said she did contribute to the novel Ribbons of Scarlet: A Novel of the French Revolution's Women, which I haven't read yet (have on my ereader).
Yes, I remember her name in that book, which I've read and loved. But it's not enough to tell about one's writing style.

The Engineer's Wife
After reading The Engineer's Wife and being impressed with this author's writing, now, I'm looking forward to reading her upcoming book The War Nurse. And I just saw that The Engineer's Wife has become the International Bestseller. I'm impressed.
The Fifth Avenue Artists Society
After reading The Fifth Avenue Artists Society and being impressed with this author's writing I bought her second book Secret Sisters. Now, I'm looking forward to reading it.

This one's on my list, but have heard mixed reviews on it. Does sound interesting to me though still :)
Simon, the reality is that it happens pretty much with each book. What is slow pace for one, is an excellent read for another.
Annette wrote: "Simon, the reality is that it happens pretty much with each book. What is slow pace for one, is an excellent read for another."Very true Annette. I read the synopsis of the book I am interested in, and decide myself if I want to read it or not. Honestly, I do read other people's reviews but in the end decide for myself :)
Exactly, I only go by reviews when I'm hesitant about a book. Otherwise, it's my decision and no review will deter it :)
Annette wrote: "Exactly, I only go by reviews when I'm hesitant about a book. Otherwise, it's my decision and no review will deter it :)"Yup :) I read other people's reviews just to get an idea of others' opinions, but in the end only you decides whether to read it or not.
Flight of the Sparrow
After reading Flight of the Sparrow, now I'm looking forward to reading this author's upcoming book Emily's House.

I read a preview of this novel last summer sometime, and have added it to my TBR. I like those little known pieces of history like you :)
Annette wrote: "Good to hear it Simon. The Social Graces was excellent from the first to the last pages :)"I am reading a preview of this ebook on my ereader since it came out today :) Looks like quite the popular title via my library.
I heard of a book this morning coming out July 6, which like The Four Winds, is set during the Dust Bowl. Novel is a debut called If It Rains by Jennifer L. Wright.
I just saw that I have it on my TBR, but I don't want to read another story set during a time I just read about. I want to read something haven't read about yet :)
Annette wrote: "I just saw that I have it on my TBR, but I don't want to read another story set during a time I just read about. I want to read something haven't read about yet :)"Lots of historical fiction novels out there that fit that category :)
So many books on my list, but one that keeps coming back to me now and again is The Saint's Mistress by Kathryn Bashaar. Would make for a good book club pick perhaps :)
Annette wrote: "I liked this one a lot."I recall that - it's definitely on my list sometime still :)
Karren wrote: "I'm still deciding what to read next and most likely. The Hidden Child by Louise Fein."Karen, I requested The Hidden Child, but haven't received any response. Did you receive a copy of this one? I really liked her first book.
Jason wrote: "Here is one I’d like to read: The Boy in Striped Pajamas by John Boyne"
Jason, I've had this one on my list for a very long time and still haven't gotten to it :)
I'm looking forward to reading these two books I've head on my kindle for quite some time:My Notorious Life
The First Mrs. Rothschild
I have some unread ebooks on my ereader, including:The London Monster *Have heard rave reviews *
The Rose Code
The Woman in Red
A novel that got released recently, that interests me is Jennifer Chiaverini's newest historical fiction novel The Women's March: A Novel of the 1913 Woman Suffrage Procession.
Simon wrote: "A novel that got released recently, that interests me is Jennifer Chiaverini's newest historical fiction novel [book:The Women's March: A Novel of the 1913 Woman Suffrage Procession|..."Simon, I just got it from the library :) But so far, there was only one of her books that I liked it in its entirety. Her writing is not consistent for me.
Annette wrote: "Simon wrote: "A novel that got released recently, that interests me is Jennifer Chiaverini's newest historical fiction novel [book:The Women's March: A Novel of the 1913 Woman Suffra..."Am interested in your thoughts on this one Annette, as so far I've heard mixed reviews . . .
Annette wrote: "Simon wrote: "A novel that got released recently, that interests me is Jennifer Chiaverini's newest historical fiction novel [book:The Women's March: A Novel of the 1913 Woman Suffra..."Which one of hers did you like?
Annette wrote: "Mrs. Lincoln's Sisters."I haven't read that one by her, but sounds interesting. The one I did long ago read by this author was Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker.
Yes, it's a lot of telling. Not the style of writing I like. I just came to a conclusion that she is not a writer for me.
Annette wrote: "Nope, I can't deal with any war stories at this time. I've had enough of them."It's on my list sometime - but yes, so many non WWII historical fiction books out there to tackle :) Just that Kate Quinn is a very good author . . .
Have you heard of the historical fiction novel The Light of Luna Park? Came out in August, and is very much talked about lately . . . little known piece of history & Coney Island.
