I'm reading Words of Radiance which I was supposed to read last month but couldn't manage due to the readathon. I'll probably pick this one up right after that one. Or maybe not. Any book that I read after the Stormlight books, I tend to not like it - the Stormlight books are incredible. Have any of you read those?

I have not. I also don't know if they're available here, but I'll look for them :) I like this writer.

Now that I’ve read 2 Mistborn books, Warbreaker and nearly 2 Stormlight books, I can vouch for the awesomeness of the Stormlight Archive; it is Sanderson’s best work! Besides, all three of these series along with Elantris are interconnected, so the more we read, the better we understand the worlds and magic-systems.

That’s so cool! I heard about The Stormlight Archive, but I’ve never read it. Now, I think I will after finishing the Mistborn series :)
It’s amazing that Sanderson is able to make so many books that are all connected!

Also, there’s a series called the Wax and Wayne Series. It takes place 300 years after the Mistborn trilogy and I was wondering you all would like to read it as a buddy read? Maybe not next month, since I got a lot of buddy reads planned then, but maybe the month after that?

Ilse, I’m definitely in for the Wax and Wayne series. Actually, Wax & Wayne series although sometimes taken as a different series, is actually part of the Mistborn Saga - they are the next three books in the Mistborn (#4, #5 & #6). Sanderson initially wrote the Mistborn trilogy and then decided to expand it to a 6-book series, and that’s how Wax & Wayne was born.

I already have my copies, so I can buddy read in June or any other month as you folks decide. :)

I looked his website up and apparently there's going to be a 7th Mistborn book :)

I would like to read the wax and Wayne series too, but have to see when I can get the books. I can probably read the first part in June, but maybe not the second and third parts the months after due to changing countries over the summer holidays. so I'll have to see if I can manage :p

That’s okay! We can also start reading them after you’ve changed countries. Or we can start in June and read the next book during 2 months (the summer) and then the last in september. It’s all fine with me; what’s the easiest for you?
Where are you moving to (if you don’t mind me asking)?

I am currently studying in Belgium and there is quite a big library in my student city with all these books available. In July and august I'll go back to my parents which is in the Netherlands and where I was born. The library there has almost no english books and the selection of fantasy books is also not too big, so I doubt they'll have the books in the library there (I think they have almost no books by Brandon Sanderson). So I would have to see if I am able to find an ebook or something if I want to read the book in those months. I don't actually want to buy the fifth book of a series, without buying the other parts, but I don't think I'm doing as well financially to buy six books :p

Okay, I've looked it up and so far only the first book of the wax and Wayne series is available in any library I look at. Weird :p. So I can certainly read the first book with you, but don't know if I'll be able to read the other two anyways. Weird.

Michelle, we can indeed wait for you to settle down, or get back to Belgium so that you can have access to the books. It’s no fun reading these books alone.

I own all the three books so count me in whenever Ilse and you decide to read these.

Ah okay. I looked the Wax and Wayne series up and the last two books aren’t translated to Dutch, so that’s why you’re unable to find them there. I get that you don’t want to buy the fifth book in the series without having bought the rest haha. Hopefully, you’ll be able to find a cheap ebook!

That's probably why yes. I'm still looking for cheap ebooks :). Anyways, we can read the first part in June. I just have to see if and when I can read part 2 and 3. (Worst case you can read them without me :p)

On topic of the current book. I'm currently on chapter 10 and I feel like Vin and Elend have changed a lot. I don't know yet if I like it. (view spoiler)[ I also don't know how I like the kolossis being around all the time. I'm curious what they'll find in the last hide-out, so I hope I'll find out tonight. I love that TenSoon and Sazed are also still part of the book, since I loved their characters :) (hide spoiler)]

I started but having a hard time continuing

Yes! I totally agree with this, however, I had a break between book 2 and 3 that was much needed because of this, so I'm ready to dive back into it :)

I also had a break btw book 2 and this one. A super long break actually. I was supposed to read book three last summer but my buddy wasn't able to and I had other buddy reads so I focused on those instead

Okay, I'm on chapter 31 and I'm doing a little update again. (view spoiler)[ Like all these books I feel like it's a bit slow, but it is really building up to something amazing in the end again probably, so I'm getting through it. I do like that we alternate chapters between the different characters. I'm curious what is going to happen to TenSoon, but my guess is that this girl he was talking with from a later generation and he are going to start a thing where the second generation won't be too happy about. I also wish that Sazed would come to himself again. I get why he is so sad, because he misses a loved one, but to give up like this... I don't like it at all. Okay, that was my little update now. Now to continue the book! (hide spoiler)]

Currently on chapter 60. (view spoiler)[ Things are starting to come together now. I somehow missed that the two groups were in different cities and was very confused at times, but I finally got it down. I'm curious what will happen to Vin, but since she is the main character, she'll probably be fine :p I also very much like the role that spook took on so far. I just hope he doesn't go too far.. I also like to finally read about 'behoud' en 'doem' (I don't know what they're called in English, like the good and bad of the world). It seems impossible to fix, but my guess is they are going to do the impossible again :p I just hope that not only Vin and Eland play a role this time, but the whole group.

I also am intrigued by the different kind of ways to transfer power and also the three different creatures that are made by the 'opperheer' (again, don't know the word in English. It is the guy who died by Vin's hands). I'm curious if three means something; will there maybe be three powers instead of two? (hide spoiler)]

I finished! The ending was great!

I'm glad he is going to be with Sazed watching over him. Now I have to process this ending before starting a new book for sure... (hide spoiler)]

I'm curious how the other trilogy will fit into this, but as said, I still haven't found other books besides the first one. If you want to start that one without me, that's fine, because I don't know if I will be able to read them with you.

I’ve finished the second book and loved it. I’m going to start the third book soon and will read your thoughts soon (I can’t open them right now for some reason).

I don’t think anyone really looks at this thread anymore, but I’m going to update it with my thoughts about the third book when I’ve started and finished it regardless. Hopefully your book is there soon Ruthie.

Update about the third book: I thought it would be here by the end of last week, but it still hasn’t arrived. This is kind of annoying. Hopefully, it’s here soon!

It is a bit slow right now but that's ok. Did you read the book or listen? I like listening sometimes when I can tell it will be slow because then you can turn up the speed a little bit during the slow parts and slow it down during the battles or when you need.

TenSoon is such an interesting character and I was so surprised by the reveal in earlier books. I was surprised about Vin's internal dialogue too saying she missed him-I didn't remember them leaving on good terms but maybe I'm forgetting something or maybe she just misses him despite what happened in the last book

(view spoiler)[ I did read the book. I have tried listening to books, but I always get distracted and feel like I miss half of the book, so I guess it's just not for me :) But it sounds like a smart turn to just go a bit faster when nothing i really happening!

TenSoon is a great character! I think in the earlier books he saved Vin from Zane, so that should make their relationship at least a bit different. I also think Vin just might miss having a kandra around, since she had TenSoon around for a while without knowing it. So that might be it?

Totally get that about getting distracted during audiobooks. It helps if I'm doing an activity that makes it easy to focus on what's being said like folding laundry, cooking, or doing the dishes

Ah yes him saving Vin from Zane, now I remember. I'll probably have to re-read these back to back sometime with no breaks in between.

So I think when you were saying I'd learn about Kelsier later on, Tensoon is the Kelsier we've been seeing in the book? It's just been out of order time-wise?
Are all the parts with Kelsier him or are some of them hallucinations?

It was an intense and sad ending with both of them dying...
