She meant the words with all her heart and if that was true, she shouldn’t be crying—why was she crying?
Maybe it was the way they'd looked at her as she hurled every insult she could think of, or maybe it was that deep down--she didn't mean any of it.
She spat the thought out as soon as it came in, he deserved every bit of the hurt she’d seen in his eyes, if it was even real.
She rubbed at the tears slipping down her cheeks as she took off into the woods lining his house.
She wished there was a gray sky and pouring rain to fit the mood, but the stubborn sun was smiling through the trees and the sky behind it was an annoyingly cloudless blue.
She was thankful to have the shade of the trees, the animals chattered, making her already regret her decision, she wanted to have quiet.
That’s what she needed in life, peace and quiet, though the way things had been going lately. she was beginning to think that was impossible.
Everything involved yelling, especially when he was involved, she drew in a breath, she couldn't think about this right now, she needed to focus.
Eventually, she would go back, but for now she just continued to her place, the place that was only hers, the place with the small stream trickling nearby.
The stream would have seemed ordinary to anyone else, but she knew the secret about the power the water held
She kept telling herself that this was the last time she'd use it, but yet, she always came back.
The invigorating power surged through her, she felt it course through her bloodstream and fill every part of her body.
She let out a sigh of relief as the water numbed into a small sting filling her with her own sense of peace.
