I think some of us are too shy to pipe up about what we are doing for others and as I did a blog post on not always staying quiet (imagine if the scientists had kept their discoveries up their sleeves!) I thought I'd shout out to two people who are supportive and inventive on here.If we can't pay it forward perhaps we can pay it back :)
I totally agree. If everyone got in the habit of doing one social media push per day and then include one retweet or on post about another indie think of how widespread the reach could be. I try to do something for someone else every day of my life. It makes the time sweeter and takes my mind off my own struggles
What you've said is all so true. For those who don't do social media, or not much, we can drop 'likes' on this group's members posts. I belonged to Goodreads for years before I discovered the power of the 'likes' to make our work more visible.
I think what you ladies are doing is wonderful. I didn't comment because I am ashamed I am not a published author and fear I never will be. Perhaps I have no right to be in this group. I am still working on my novel when I am able to type. I struggle with my health issues which continue to worsen. In addition to receiving regular IV treatments at the city hospital, I wear gloves with the fingertips cut off and that helps sometimes. All I can do to help is read and review your books, at which I'm also embarrassed I can't afford to buy everyone's book and am a very slow reader. I deeply apologize for letting the group down.I hope you and your family members are well. Hugs to you both.
Always nice to read about self-published authors supporting each other. How kind you both are, Anna and Carole :)
Thanks, Valerie. Hoping that when everybody helps one another instead of an angel getting their wings, I'm hoping a sale is wrung up on Amazon. lol
We all do what we can, Sam, I can't look after rescue dogs - I wish I could. All I can do is include them in my writing. You actually do something. Each does what they're able to.And Valerie, it's kind of you to say so! Just doing our bit.
Anna, that's very kind of you to say. I do have one of your books on my reading list. I read slow and it's a long list but I'll get there. Huge hugs.
Anna wrote: "Hello? Anybody else out there? Or is it just us two having a natter?"I'm here somewhere, but I have to find me first. It's been a strange year, and it's only not-quite April...
I'm not terribly good at the whole social media thing, but I'll mention (as I have before) Story Origin as a great way to build a mailing list through swaps and group promos. It's going to become a paid service soon, but it's still free right now, and if you sign up while it's free, you'll get a discount on the paid version.
I must've seen the words 'Story Origin' around here the magic 7 times, because I finally got around to signing up about 2 weeks ago - excellent timing it seems, since I will qualify for the discount when they begin charging for their services soon! I have a feeling I probably have you to thank, Dale, so thank you very much :)

2 of the responses came from this group and I am delighted to be able to use their books because they have supported me in the past, paying it forward, and they continue to do so. So I thought they deserved a little bit of pay back for what they have done for me.
You know who you are! Thank you.
