Have you ever been on a reading slump? How was it? How did you get it over? Share your experience here!

yes, I have. The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series put me in a reading slump and I ended up getting out it by joining some book groups to get me motivated to read again

I have only been once in my life, after I read Foucault's Pendulum, cause it was soooo great, and no book was like it! I finally got it over, thanks to A Game of Thrones!

Haha omg this was me !!! Idk if life just got too hectic for me to read or I just read too much of the same genre ....~~stereotypical plot lines are enough to drive anyone into a slump~~ 😂

I took a break from reading and now i've come back and I more open to some new genres.

Yeah same! One time i kept reading fantasy books with super similar plots and characters and i started mixing them all together and i got in a slump bc i was just so tired of all the same-ness lol

Am I the only one who falls into a reading slump only when I read a really great book, and I can't find a book as good as it, so it can grab me my attention? Most people say that they fall into reading slums after boring books, but it doesn't work the same to me...

I never had a reading slump okay tbh i had it once it was for 2 days LOL,the reason I had it cuz the book was really good so i didn't want to start a new book for 2 days and another time cuz the book was really boring it was fangirl and it was for a day, maybe the reason i never had a long slump cuz i just start reading in 2020 and it wasn't really like reading i mean i read 3 books and i spent 3 to 4 months reading the first book i already post this in 'reading journey' topic so i actually don't know the reason i never had a reading slump but that is good :)

This happens to me as well, all the time, though sometimes I take a short one day or so break from reading after a boring book.

oh, trust me, you're really lucky you have never been on a long reading slump :)
