For the month of April we will be reading a book published the month of your birthday. Looking forward to seeing what everyone chooses.

I'm going to read People Kill People by Ellen Hopkins; excited to read a poetry novel for Nat'l Poetry Month, my favorite literary celebration!

If you google "books published in August" (or whatever month) it should come up with quite a few options for the most recent year, and then it looks like there should be some Goodreads results underneath those from years past.

I've been wanting to start "The Stormlight Archive" series by Brandon Sanderson for a little while since I've read another of his series and liked it. I ended up on the Wikipedia page for the first book of the series and saw it was published on my exact birthday (August 31) back in 2010! It seemed like fate so I'm going to attempt to read The Way of Kings. It's 1000 pages though, so we'll see how it goes!

I have a few that I am trying to find. I guess that it will be whichever I can get by the end of the month. My birthday is in December and I want to read one from 2020.

Still can't figure out how to reply to comments on here - I'm in the app and it doesn't seem to be available - but Olivia, I really like Brandon Sanderson and The Way of Kings is on my TBR too! I'm reading the Mistborn trilogy right now and I've read Elantris.

I picked In Five Years by Rebecca Serle. It was published on my actual birthday in 2020.

I usually have an idea of what I would like to read for each month but for this one I just googled books published in December. The Last Days of John Lennon by James Patterson looked good so that is the one I am reading.

I read Force of Nature by Jane Harper. It was on my TBR list, it was published during my birthday month, and the audiobook was available on Libby. So it was my pick. If anyone else likes mysteries, this is my review:
"This one definitely kept me guessing so as a mystery it was quite good. At one point, I thought it was going to turn into a Hunger Games or Lord of the Flies situation. I didn’t, however, love the narration—which seems odd as I normally have a thing for Australian accents. Also, I didn’t realize until too late that it was the second in a series. It kinda works as a standalone, but there was clearly something going on with the MC that I wish I knew about from the first book."

I'd love to see everyone else's reviews of their monthly reading challenge books here if y'all are willing to share.

I love Jane Harper's books! She is one of my go-to authors for thrillers!

I ended up reading Love Lettering by Kate Clayborn in audiobook format. It was a good romance selection that was enjoyable.

I can see why she's a go-to for you...fast becoming a go-to for me as well.

Most lists of books published in a specific month were also by year so i decided to just read this month and see what qualified. Of the 12 books i finished in April, none were published in November. But 5 were published on a January 1; guess i chose the wrong month to come into this world.

I also love Ruth Ware if you are looking for other great authors in that genre.

I’m a bit behind on posting but I did read Dr. Mcdougall’s Digestive Tune up. I read it a long time ago but am currently doing a lot of health reading so thought I would refresh my mind. :)
