Bella looked around and felt out of place here, she didn't know what to do, and was worried she would mess up since she only ever was around animals
amy turned back and ordered a second one for izzy, knowing izzy didn't know anything about coffee, "i think you'll like this one" she smiled
Bella nodded and kept her head down, as she stared at the floor, Just breathe in and out, she told herself
amy pulled her hand, sitting them down at a table "what's wrong you look a little tense" she was gentle in her words
"I just don't like being around much people, I was fine with you and Nia, but that's because I trust you guys, it's different here, I don't know, I might just be overreacting"
"we can go outside if you'd like" she smiled pulling her hand again
(i think i only have a couple minutes left, i can continue later though, if you want)

Bella smiled gratefully at amy and squeezed her hand, "Thank you"
(That's fine! Whatever is better for you!)
(That's fine! Whatever is better for you!)
(i'm back for the night) amy sat down at a table outside "so what is it like at your house? i mean before you came to the academy"
(Heyyyy!) She frowned and shrugged, "It was fine at first, but my parents didn't really understand why I am so dark, and only my brother understood me, but he died when he moved away, and then I became next in line to pay his debt" She looked away and stared out at the sky, her eyes glazed over in memory
"So, what about you?" She asked looking at amy
"i don't really like to talk about it" she said, and for the first time izzy since she met she looked sad
Bella frowned not liking to see the happy amy so sad, so she did the only thing she knew, "wanna see something cool?" She started whistling and a bunch of birds starting flying around singing twinkle twinkle little star
amy wasn't paying attention, she was lost in thought at the question. after a couple minutes when their coffees came she finally looked up "wait, what happened? i kinda spaced out."
Bella smiled indulgently and shook her head, "Don't worry about it" she said hoping amy would be ok, she didn't like seeing her sad
"It's good" she said, trying not rub her arms as they started to burn again
amy gave a smile "good, i'm sorry, i just don't the fondest memories of home to put it lightly" she said taking a sip of her coffee
"I get it, you can just tell me when you're ready, ok?" She said softly, placing her hand over amy's
Bella nodded, quickly drank the rest of her coffee, and stood up, she whistled and Leo came running from an alley and sat next to amy, "Leo, stay with her and keep her safe" Bella said, walking over to amy and gave her a hug then she quickly backed away her arms felt like they were on fire, and she had to leave now, "I'll see you back at the castle" She said to amy as she took off running into the trees
amy stood up sticking her hand out "wait, but........." izzy was gone, she hung her head and headed back toward the castle
(gtg for tonight, we can continue tomorrow in the common room if that's good with you?)
Acheron, or Ash as he preferred had just been at the meeting academy he was to attend. It had been overwhelming to say the least. He wouldn’t say he couldn’t handle it, but it would certainly take some getting used to. Feeling like he needed a dose of normal he went to check out the town outside of the academy. There were students milling about, some much younger than him, others seemed to be the same age. No one he knew though, it would be weird to live among the population of royalty and different when he had grown up among normal mortals.
Ash was wearing black, fitted pants, a white tee that cling to him slightly, and his hair was styled in just the right way. His chocolate colored eyes landed on what looked like a coffee shop. Coffee, or rather a latte, sounded about perfect right then. A few students ran by, Ash stepped out of the way so he wouldn’t get run over. Walking into the coffee shop he appreciated the smells and sounds of the shop. It smelled like freshly ground coffee beans, sugar, and caramel, people were chatting here and there. He walked up, he was second in line to order. He pulled out his phone to check to see if he had any Snapchat’s, no one had sent him anything. He slipped the phone into his back pocket and waited to move up in the line.

After a few moments, the door opened again, and someone else stepped inside and got in line behind someone with dark hair and black pants. Alya, who had been at the school since the start of this year only, had blown another math test, even with a friend's help the night before, and needed a little pick-me-up before studying again so she could re-take it after the teacher allowed her to.
She looked at the menu and eventually decided on a simple black coffee, but with a healthy dose of both cream and sugar.
The person ahead of Ash moved and it was suddenly his turn, “I’ll take a white mocha latte, with almond milk.” He felt the air change behind him, someone had come up behind him. Instinct told him to turn around, so he did, there was a girl there. She had red hair, and she looked like she knew what she wanted. He turned back to the counter and laid some cash down, “I’ll pay for hers too,” He told the barista, he didn’t know why he did it. Usually he did this for guys, not girls, but she seemed like she needed her cup of coffee, so here he was. Ash went down to the end of the counter to wait for his order.
Ash didn’t know if she was from the academy or just a local. This was the first person he’d been curious about since arriving. It would be interesting to see if she spoke to him or not.

Alya's eyes widened at the boy's words, and she stopped looking around the shop and observing people on habit. "Wait--what?" She looked at him. "You--you don't have to do that, I can pay." She was half grateful anyway, but half suspicious. When people did this, usually they wanted something.
The girl with the red hair tried to tell him he didn’t have to pay, he rose a single dark brow and smiled slightly, “It’s okay. I want to,” He shrugged before picking up his latte and giving her the once over. “Do you come here often?” More than anything he was feeling out if she was a student or a local, also he was wondering how long she’d been living there. It was hard to tell, though he was sure that one day he’d be able tell the difference, if he lasted that long. He tended to get kicked out of schools. Though that wasn’t a good reputation to have, he couldn’t help it. He didn’t have full control of himself and sometimes he got hot headed. Which usually ended up with someone getting punched in the face.
Alya raised an eyebrow, taking in his dark, well-styled hair, and his eyes. "Well, thanks," she stated, somewhat suspiciously. She stood her ground and crossed her arms as his eyes scanned her as she waited for the drink he had ordered for her. "And sometimes. So, you want something? Is that why you ordered it?"
Her blue eyes kind of drew him in for a minute, it took a moment for his mind to catch up with what she’d said. He then noticed that she had a defensive stance. What was she doing? he was just ordering her a drink. “Now look love I’m not trying to get you in a tizzy, I’m a guy buying a girl a drink,” He put his hands up in a surrender like motion and took a step back so that she might feel more comfortable with him. The last thing he wanted to do was get in trouble on the first day. “I’m Acheron, but you can call me Ash,” He gave her a tight smile, his full smiles were rare and far between. Of course he’d had little to smile about in his young life, maybe that would change here.(British btw)
Alya's red brows narrowed. She shook her head immediately. "Don't 'love' me," she stated flatly; out of the corner of her eye, she saw her drink was ready. She released one hand and took it. She didn't want to ignite a fight, not here and now, but she knew men like this--they'd try something nice, say something endearing, and then hurt you. She'd been warned against them, and besides, she knew flattery when she saw it, but it also helped she didn't ever feel anything for anyone. "Thanks for the drink, really, but I don't flirt unless its necessary." She didn't trust, still, that he didn't want something from her. "Alya," she added shortly. ((ooh okay thanks--London, right?))
(Yeah :P love her sass))
Blinking Ash tried to think of what wto make of the girl, she told him not to love her, which he didn’t, so he was rightly confused. Oh, he thought, OH. Ash leaned against the counter, ignoring everyone in the room by Alya. “I naturally come off that way, but I swear I’m not flirting. Well, maybe I am, it does come naturally after all. But I wasn’t trying to lure you or anything if that’s what you’re thinking. What kind of guys do you run into around this place?” He glanced around and then his eyes were back on Alya. A pretty name to go with a pretty face. “Look I’m new here, I was just trying to be friendly.” He took a sip from his latte and gave her a look like he was trying to figure her out as much as she was trying to figure him out.

((XD thanks haha! I like Ash, he seems like a great character and really thought out))"Flirting comes naturally?" She waited for the drink to cool and transferred it into her left hand so, in case something happened, she could easily reach the pistol in her back pocket with her right. "And, well, at first I thought maybe you just wanted, I don't know, something, but then you got all endearing, so yeah, maybe that is what I thought. It's not the guys around here, it's that I overlook and read into everything, and observe everyone and don't leave all possibilities unturned," she stated with a one-shouldered shrug. "Force of habit and second-hand experience." She nodded slowly. "Fine. New to the school, I assume? You look like you could be a student. Which in that case, maybe try not to flirt with everyone you meet right away--just saying, you do it to a professor and you're probably in detention." She grinned, knowing he probably wouldn't but feeling the need to half-agitate him.
Did he really come off as some guy trying to get a girl, or something? Ash had never had that impression on girls before, guys yeah. He could pick them up like nobodies business, but girls? Nah never. It was interesting that his chemistry struck up with this girl, Alya. He found her interesting, and could see them arguing a lot, but not exactly in a bad way. She spoke out about how she didn’t leave anything to chance, and he could see that about her. But was it really the healthiest way to live? Ash lived on the edge, he was always taking chances and doing things he shouldn’t. This could be a problem in the future, but he didn’t much care at that moment.
“Flirting does come naturally as a matter of fact, some of us have it and some of us,” He paused, “Don’t.” She thought he would get detention from flirting? Not unless the professors were really hot, and even then, he wasn’t really into flirting with older people. But he’d play along, “Oh yeah? Maybe you could go to detention with me,” He gave her a wink before sipping his drink once again.

"So you're not trying to lure anyone? Well, if I were you, I'd stop flirting with me before something bad happens." At his last words about detention and his audacious wink, which just made her angrier, she looked him dead in the eyes, right hand now on her gun in her back pocket. She let the safety release with an audible click. She was not going to shoot him--would never do that unless she was in actual danger--but he didn't need to know that. She took a sip of her coffee as she watched for his reaction.
He wasn’t trying to lure anyone, but if she kept insisting that he was then he was going to put on the full charm and show just how alluring he could be. He noticed the change in her demeanor, and when she let the safety release on her gun everyone in coffee shop seemed to hold their breath. Ash didn’t flinch, he set his coffee down on the counter and put his hands in his pockets, though it was hard to do with how tight his pants were. “Should we take this outside love? These people don’t need to be a part of whatever this,” He waved back and forth between them, “Is. If I’ve offended you, apologies. I’m honestly just trying to be a gentleman. I suppose they don’t have those where you’re from?”
"Gentlemen?" Alya snorted. "If my gentlemen you mean men who talk to all women like they're less than them and assume we want to be flirted with in a coffee shop, then no. I have equals in my family, and real gentlemen don't flirt when someone tells them to stop." She removed the gun and stepped forward, placing the barrel right over his chest. "Yes, let's take this outside. By the way, one more 'love', and you'll need the nurse."
She was actually angered by his tone of voice, but some part of her still didn't trust him, even as another part of her felt he really was just trying to be nice.
For the first time in his life Ash was at a loss for words, this girl really thought he was some sort of threat? He just looked at her for a moment, trying to process that there was a gun pointed at his chest and she did indeed want to take it outside. He hadn’t thought she would actually want to take it outside, or that she would pull the gun on him. He put his hands up, leaving his coffee on the counter. Shadows swirled around his feet and hands as he went towards the exit of the coffee shop. He willed the shadows back to wherever they came from, now was not the time for them to be making an appearance.
“Alright lo- er um Alya,” He went outside with the girl that was sorely mistaken. “I’m telling you, all I was doing was buying you a drink. And what do I get? A whole lot of trouble,” Murmuring he stopped just outside the shop. If she really was going to use the gun then he would need the shadows that were itching to surround him. “Can we just talk about this? Without guns?”

She hissed, noticing the shadows. "So you're a magical one, eh?" She frowned, pretending to think about his words, gun still trained on him. She would still not use it--throwing a punch, on the other hand, wasn't out of the question. He now seemed to take her seriously, so she slowly lowered the pistol to the ground. "Fine." A bit of guilt tied in her stomach, but she still could never be too careful; experience and second-hand experience had been all too clear. And if he was trying to draw her in by pretending to be innocent... "Maybe I overreacted," she began, "and I'm sorry if I did. But please don't flirt with me when I'm not reciprocating, not all girls like the endearing terms that make us feel like we're five. I guess boys who I don't know who buy things for me seem a little sketchy after what I know."
There was a sarcastic remark on the tip of his tongue, he decided not to let it slip out though. “Yes I have some magic,” He replied. This one wasn’t one to mess with, she seemed to have ptsd or something. “Overreacted? I’d say so,” He commented. “Who hurt you?” He blurted out, it wasn’t something he’d planned on saying but it came out anyway. Endearments came naturally to Ash, everyone in London spoke that way, even the girls. It would take a lot of restraint not to let one slip out. But he wasn’t about to explain that to her right then, she’d just put her gun away. He didn’t want her bringing back out. There was something more going on beneath the surface than just a girl being annoyed by a boys gesture, or was it common place here to pull a gun on someone?
"No one hurt me," she answered. "At least, not in the way I figured you may be trying to. I just grew up with some very...hard core people, that's all. And I was taught to never discount anything. So I just took the drink with the combined endearments to mean something. People betray, they backstab, and they hurt, and I've learned to try and stay a step ahead of all that garbage."
She said that she hadn’t been hurt, he wasn’t sure he believed that. Emotional abuse went way deeper than anything physical. “Okay...” he replied, Ash wondered if she would ever want to see the likes of him again after this encounter. “Well I was raised to treat girls with respect, I wasn’t trying to get anything from you either. I’m just being nice. Some people like to think that they know who I am without even giving me a chance, and that’s their loss. But I hope that our interaction won’t end that way. You actually seem pretty cool if I’m being honest. I mean who carries a gun around in the open ?” He of course came from London where guns were illegal without a license, he doubted she had one of those. Knives were more likely to pop up in London. “Can I assume we can both be civil to each other? I mean as long as I respect you and you respect me?”
"Yes." She popped the safety back on and pocketed it. "Alright, it's just I was raised in a paranoid environment around lots of agents, if it helps. And the way I saw it, you were condescending, that's all. And...I actually don't know who you are. I know you go to the Academy, too, but I don't know who your parents are." She smiled slightly. "Thanks? I mean, people who know the world may end at any second carry guns, I suppose."
Agents? Were her parents secret agents or something? He didn’t want to pry too much, it seemed like she had already been through enough for one day. “You’re right, you don’t know me, and I don’t know you. So maybe we should fix that,” Ash held out his hand for her to shake, “Hey I’m Hades kid, my mum’s a mortal. I grew up in London. Maybe that should clear up why I talk the way I do. I’m here because my mum had enough of me getting kicked out of schools so good ole dad stepped in,” he said the word “dad” like he had a bad taste in his mouth. He didn’t know the guy, and he wasn’t sure he wanted to. “What about you ?”
She hesitated, then shook his hand with a strong shake. "Hades' son, huh? Wow, I...well, I've never actually spent too much time in London. Well, Hades explains the, um, the shadows, I guess. Is that weird, being his son? It seems you dislike him." She took a deep breath. "Alya, but you know that." She didn't say a word about her last name. She hesitated again, unsure how much to say. "I'm here because my mom thought I could use more human interaction and friends. I'm from New York," she added. "And if it makes you feel any better, I've been kicked out of school too, once."
