what could have happened to Angel? I like the idea of a girl, I wondered if it was a friend or new lover - but something she wasn't sharing with friends
but I really have no good guesses or ideas

I was watching grandkids the last couple days so wasn't home to get on my computer until early evening. Then I was too tired! So this covers a lot.

Through CH. 8 (view spoiler)[I had a feeling that the "other girl" was a love interest. I'm not sure how the Haitians feel about homosexuality but it seemed to me that was a good possiblity. I can't remember the guy in blue right now...hmm...I don't think the brother really knew much at that time. As far as the detective and Frankie finding a love interest, that's always a possiblity! lol (hide spoiler)]

I am so slow on my reading these days...I'm too busy! I think I started this one 4 days ago and I'm hoping to finish it today. Now our refrigerator is not running correctly. The fridge side is 57 degrees and the freezer side is 34 when it should be 34-37 and 0 degrees. Hopefully the freezer side stays frozen and we don't lose a bunch of meat! They're coming out today...anyway I'll hopefully finish this today so I can start with all my books for our new challenges starting tomorrow.

Ugh...the fridge is only worse and we had a repairman out around 2 or 3. He said the back was just dirty and he blew the dirt out, said to leave it off until around 6 so Scott plugged it back in at almost 7:00 but now the freezer is 27 but the fridge is 61 so I don't think he knew what he was doing.

I'm finished and I loved it too!

(view spoiler)[I'm really glad that she found Angelique and that Emmanuel wasn't the one shot! I wasn't expecting Frankie to get shot, but thankfully she's okay now.

I had a feeling that Angelique and Livia were a love interest. It's sad that Angelique lost her, especially in a violent way.

The student visas being the scam never crossed my mind! I guess I don't think much like a criminal. I had no idea that might ever be a thing! (hide spoiler)]

I agree with you that I'd love to see this be a series, but I didn't see any other books planned for it.

This one was a winner for both of us...that makes me happy! lol
