Kandice Nice Inn! I'll have to look at your profile and check out your books. :D

Those books are not my cup of tea, but I really enjoyed your reviews and liked them all ^_^ Thanks for posting a topic for your Inn! :D

Makes sense, Boris. It's just sometimes I try different things but never seem to enjoy it quite as much as fantasy/horror...

And yes, some authors are kind enough to give you free e-copies of their book in exchange for reviews.

Kandice I tend to read a select group, but when I actually DO step out of that group I love something and then devour all I can find of theirs and they become part of my group. Vicious circle, right?

I hate gore horror. Psychological horror is what I enjoy. Stephen King is my favourite author, that should give you a clue of what I meant :) I also enjoy Neil Gaiman's stuff quite a lot.

That's one of the few books by him I have not read.
I always like to recomend Insomnia, it's a good one.

Awesome, please let me know what you thought when you get to it, or just post here ^_^

And yeah it's not usually mentioned much. It and The Shining is good horror but Insomnia is great fantasy with just a hint of horror, imo.

Trust me, it's well worth it!

why don't you want to read The Stand, Aaron? O.o

message 9: by Melaslithos (new)

Melaslithos | 1645 comments I thought I didn't like post apocalyptic novels until I read Malevil. Actually, I didn't even know that post-apocalyptic novel was a genre until then.

I admit that I find a lot of those really unoriginal and boring, and I really pay attention before I read one, but the one I mentionned is really great.

Oh well, to each their own ^_^
Oh not a problem Boris, just really want to know what you think about it whenever you get to it, secretly wondering if you'll be converted to SK :D

Ahah Boris, that's precious. See? I told you he's awesome :D
Btw, the books are SO much better than the movies. They usually are :)

Kandice The Green Mile was best read it int's original form. He wrote it (and released it) as a 6 part serial. Kind of an homage to Dickens.

I have read every single word that King has written. Love, love, love the man!

Joey (mostlyjoe) | 54 comments I use to like Saul. A few of his thrillers were fun.

Favorite was Sleepwalk and would recomend if it didn't potray the anti-vac fears so freakishly accurate in today's zeitgeist.

Kandice I know I have read at least one Saul, possibly more, but can't think of which at the moment. I'll have to look.

I'm the same way about Dean Koontz. I can never remember which of his I have read until I read a synopsis.

Joey (mostlyjoe) | 54 comments Ya. Koontz and Saul's book kinda blur together in your head. Good writers, but rarely stand out.
