Ruth | 1816 comments One of the things I really loved in this book was the body positivity. Most obviously with the children who had very non-normative body types (especially Chauncey) but also with Linus. There's a line late on which I can't 100% remember (a disadvantage of audiobooks is that it's harder to highlight stuff!) but it's something like (putting in spoiler tags but it's only a very mild spoiler) (view spoiler)

The book gives us the very positive message that people of all body types deserve love and respect, and gives that message in ways both obvious and more subtle.

Gordon (daftyman) | 34 comments This is something that I liked about this book. It was accepting of everyone. All the children at the house were just that, children.
Linus also seemed to be accepted just the way he was at the house, if not in the office.

I felt for Linus at the beginning when his work environment was additional stress, all those rows of desks with no space for sitting. Part of what he needed was a change in space!

This! I may have cheered when (view spoiler). Okay, I totally cheered! This could be one of the reasons the book could appeal to the young adult audience as well. I wish this book would've been around when I was a teenager.
